Carte Blanche this Sunday 21 September 2025:
Failure to Prosecute
It’s a story that’s haunted us for more than three years. Eastern Cape attorney Zuko Nonxuba
won millions from the Department of Health on behalf of children with severe cerebral palsy.
But the children, living in rural poverty, saw little or none of the money.
A year later, he was struck from the roll of attorneys, and a warrant of arrest issued on nearly 20 counts of fraud and theft. But he remains at large.
For nearly four years, cases have dragged through the courts while millions in pay-outs vanish - and defrauded children die waiting for justice.

Panorama in Decline
Who’s letting our national treasures rot? Mpumalanga’s iconic Panorama Route boasts some of our country’s most breathtaking scenery, from Bourke’s Luck Potholes to God’s Window.
But behind the picture-perfect view lies a depressing reality: filthy ablutions, litter-strewn viewpoints, and rusted railings.
A recent viral report paints a picture of mismanagement and missed opportunity. As world-class wonders are neglected, tourism dwindles.
Locals hope to spur government into regenerating our priceless natural heritage. But will they be heard?
