The Rivombos, described by Word of Mouth Pictures as four devoted family members who would go to any lengths to support and love each other in a storyline about unity and hope.
They are:
Mzamani Rivombo
Played by Obed Baloyi (Ga Re Dumele, Giyani, Shaka iLembe, Soul Buddyz)
Mzamani is the patriarch of the family. He's the owner and operator of the local spaza shop that plays a vital role in the community, providing not just essential goods but also a sense of stability and support to those around him.
This from Obed on his role:
Obed: "It is an honour, a great pleasure and a dream come true for me to join this beautiful and historic soapie.

Winnie Rivombo
Played by Masutang Hope Rasekele, who played Queen Modjadji's mother Dzugudini on Queen Modjadji
Mzamani’s wife. She's a strong, faith-driven woman whose deep-rooted church values guide her decisions and interactions.
A natural leader in her community, she is admired for her compassion, resilience and unwavering commitment to those around her.
With a heart of gold, Winnie stands as a pillar of strength, embodying grace, dignity and the true essence of a family matriarch.
Masutang on her role:
Masutang: "What is yours will never miss you. Always be present to the process of becoming."
(Now we know why her middle name is Hope - hope we can understand her!)
Hulukati “Hulu” Rivombo
Played by Nkateko Mabunda (DaChipi, Giyani)
Mzimani and Winnie's daughter. She's a lovable teenager with big dreams and an even bigger heart with aspirations of becoming a successful influencer.
Nkateko on her role:
Nkateko: “Joining the Muvhango team has truly been an honour. This is my initial entry into the realm of soapies, and I’m eager to learn, develop and make a meaningful contribution to the show, to the best of my ability. Keeping in mind that it has been an iconic part of South African television, I appreciate this chance and am excited about the journey that lies ahead.”
Nkomati Rivombo
Played by Junior Magagane (Ga Re Dumele, Diep City)
Mzimani and Winnie's son. He's an ambitious go-getter with an unrelenting drive to make money. His resourcefulness and hustle set the stage for a character that is constantly on the move, seeking new opportunities.
Junior on his role:
