First the series shut down because of
the production's financial meltdown, it
suddenly returned on 23 September and then the teasers disappeared.
You may have noticed that there haven't been teasers for it for October. Here's why... when BET announced that it was returning they sent us teasers up until 10 October.
At the end of September we enquired about further teasers for October and BET told us that they'd made a decision to "transition away from sharing them publicly."
And now it's been revealed that the cast and crew have been on strike for the past two weeks after the production failed to pay them yet AGAIN.
On Sunday (13 October)
City Press reported that they stopped working on the show on 2 October because of non-payment.
The article includes a quote from producer Clive Morris saying that the cast were being paid on Friday (11 October) and that "I can't tell you what the glitch was but it wasn't our glitch. There was a slight glitch but they're being paid as we speak and by Monday everybody will be paid. "
Enough is enough. It's never-ending and constant - make it stop!
There's been no transparency from anyone involved in these "payment glitches" as to what's going on. It's therefore impossible to continue covering this show because it's clear it could shut down again at any moment and no-one will be transparent about what's going on if we ask.
We've spent too much time and energy on this production and want to move on to focus on the many other shows on TV.
We just hope that the cast and crew get what they're owed and that they move on soon too.
