The Unbelievable with Dan Aykroyd

Did you know that during World War II, Franklin D. Roosevelt launched a top-secret program to attack Japan – with an army of bats?

Or that three people once lost their lives thanks to a falling poodle?

Have you heard of the island off the coast of Mexico that's populated by thousands of mutilated dolls?

What about the prison where inmates sometimes wake up... with a new set of goat testicles?

If you haven't, then brace yourself for The UnBelievable with Dan Aykroyd.

Each hour-long episode will open up a cabinet of curiosities to reveal the strangest-but-true stories in human history, brought to life through dynamic recreation, graphics and arresting archival.

From Boston's Great Molasses Flood of 1919, when a 25-foot tidal wave of syrup demolished an entire neighbourhood and the killer dancing plague of 1518 to a surgery with a 300% mortality rate and a man who survived being struck by lightning not once, not twice, but seven times, these seemingly tall tales may seem unbelievable, but they are 100% true.

These seemingly tall tales all actually happened, and the cast of experts dives into the historical record to tell you how and why.

In the series premiere, "Strange Places": Shipwrecks, plane crashes, disappearances and UFO sightings, oh my.

This episode explores the Lake Michigan Triangle and many other wild and weird places, including a creepy doll-filled island with a dark past, deadly gas-filled explosive lakes, caves that harbour deadly viruses, and the most haunted place in the US.
