Special notes

1.6-million people sat next to the women on the Orange Couch

SABC1's gender-based violence testimonial series Orange Couch attracted over 1.6-million viewers for its most watched episode in November, despite the fact that loadshedding played havoc with people's TVs.

It also achieved an audience share of 21, which means that one fifth of the viewers who were watching TV at the time were tuned into the show.

One fifth of TV-watching South Africans were there in solidarity and spirit with survivors of GBV.

The Black Door steps in front of Imbewu and Durban Gen

The Black Door made e.tv's Top 3 for the first time since its premiere in April.

Durban Gen and Imbewu have been contesting the spot since Imbewu moved from 21h30 to 21h00 in April, and now The Black Door's taken Imbewu's previously owned position.

That said, viewership for the 21h30 timeslot is still down by over a million when you compare it with what it used to be when Imbewu was at 21h30. Imbewu attracted 3.4 million viewers in March before it moved to 21h00.

Isono

It was clearly a good idea to move Isono's first run episodes on e.tv to 20h00 instead of 17h30 because it's now appearing in the Top 20 with a healthy 1,4-million viewers.

The 20h00 broadcast made the Top 20 for the first time in July with 1.7-million viewers but we missed this when it happened. Will it maintain its presence?

I somehow missed this. Scandal is now the second most watched TV show. That's big.
