Special notes

Mzansi Magic paid the price for the uncreative, badly produced Sunday night Big Brother Mzansi 3 live shows.

Viewership was already much lower than Idols when it first started with 529,041 viewers in January.

Ratings dropped to 487,770 viewers in February and then plunged to 396,192 viewers in March, a loss of 25% between the start of the season and March.

It wasn't even available on Catch Up so there's no possible argument that viewers watched on Catch Up instead, they just stopped watching completely.

This is what happens when a production fails to deliver quality entertainment for audiences and doesn't even try to improve the show as the series progresses. It started with an undynamic show that lacked unique, entertaining content and this continued throughout.

The finale aired on 3 April so we'll see the ratings for that next month.

The timeslot overall: before Idols crashed and burned last season, it was attracting over a million viewers, meaning the channel has now lost over 600,000 viewers in the early evenings on Sundays.
