Things get out of hand at the Phakade house as much as he tries, Phakade fails to get the men to leave his property and he eventually calls his children to handle the matter. At the Bhengu house Sibongile finds out about the baby's paternity but swears secrecy to Nokuzola.

Nirupa is excited about Thu’s birthday. Thu on the other hand doesn’t want any birthday celebrations. MaZulu advises Zithulele and Zakithi to step back from the matter of the gas for now. Meanwhile in Mbumbulu, Sebenzile accidentally confirms the rumours of gas to the church ladies.

The forty-year anniversary church celebrations are disrupted when Nkululeko tells the congregation about the gas under the land and Phakade’s refusal to allow the drilling. The community is up in arms.
At the Rampersads Shria keeps her decision to convert to Catholicism for Jason a secret from her family. She and Jason consult a brahmin who tells them that their marriage will spell disaster...

Shria takes a modern stance and refuses to marry a tree. Thu shows up at Emsamo looking like a million bucks. Mrs Price confronts Shria and Nirupa about the prediction that Jason is going to die. At uMbumbulu Phakade and his family rush outside. The church has been set alight.

The Emsamo crew wake up hungover. Nkululeko realises that Mzwandile was probably responsible for the fire. News of the fire has reached Zithulele and Zakithi. MaNdlovu wants the person that started the fire found.

Sebenzile and kaMadonsela feel helpless as they fail to figure out how to help a crestfallen Phakade. Much to Nkirupa’s shock, a down in the dumps Shria contemplates eloping with Jason should things not work out with the astrologer. But the astrologer informs them that the stars have aligned.

The family worry that Phakade is nowhere to be found. Zithulele tells maZulu about how he and Zakithi connived with Nkululeko, and she chastises them. Phakade fetches a package from an old friend and arrives in the boardroom at Maluju with a bomb strapped to his body.

Shria chastises Nirupa for insulting the Price’s. When Mrs Price suggests Jason split the wedding bill he refuses. Shria and Jason receive a homework assignment for marriage counselling. Nirupa promises to support Thu Sheleni in his house ‘business’.
Lindo proposes the Emsamo staff become his new tenants but Thu Sheleni won’t hear it.

At Malujlu the hostages emerge unharmed but everyone worries about maZulu. The family learns that Phakade will be formally charged. At the Rampersads the priest asks Jason and Shria to abstain from sex until they are wed. Shria wants to have sex one last time before they abstain. Jason refuses.
Thu sheleni officially opens the commune, with a party.

MaNdlovu is determined to do anything to save her son from a prison sentence. Shria and Jason come to a cross-road at their marriage counselling. Thu buckles under the pressure of having friends as tenants.

Differences emerge in Shria and Jason’s pre-marital counselling. At the Bhengu house the family learns that Phakade wiill be charged on multiple counts for threatening to blow them all up. After discussing the matter with Makhosazana, maZulu pays the bribe. Will Phakade be released?

Mrs Price doesn’t want her son to be a hen-pecked husband. Nkululeko wants maZulu to hand over her seat to him as CEO. MaZulu comes to Phakade to offer him five percent of her shares in exchange for his support in the boardroom.

Sebenzile gets Khanyo to explain the gas drilling’s financial projections to her and she learns that Phakade would be set to earn millions each year from the project. She announces to the family that she thinks it’s high time she and Phakade are married.
At the commune Thu is conflicted and torn when Poppy takes it upon herself to move into his bedroom with him. Nirupa encourages Shria to keep her surname when she marries Jason.

Maluju and Shongololo finally reach an agreement, but there’s still a question about who will be CEO? Phunyuka tells maNdlovu he has a lead. He questions Mzwandile about the pamphlets, and warns him he will find out who burnt the church.

Zakithi and Zithulele say goodbye to Shongololo. Nkululeko tells maNdlovu that maZulu is stepping down as CEO and asks for her support. The Shongololo staff arrive at Maluju and its choas. Meaniwhile, at the Rampersads, Jason calls off his engagement with Shria.

Nirupa and Jyothi exchange very harsh words with Mrs. Price regarding the broken engagement, and Shria gives a crestfallen Jason his ring back. At Maluju Energy the press, shareholders and family arrive, and maZulu shocks everyone when she names the new CEO of Maluju Energy.

MaNdlovu refuses to bless Sebenzile’s marriage to Phakade. Mira spills the beans about Shria’s paternity and Jyothi wants Nirupa and Shria out of Pranav’s house. At the Commune Poppy tries to be sexy for Thu, but falters halfway through.
Meanwhile, Zithulele thinks he’s caught Nokuzola and Nkululeko in a romantic moment.

Things heat up at the Commune as Poppy attempts to do anything to seduce Thu and Thu finally succumbs to Nomusa’s seduction. A drunk and devastated Zithulele ends up making an impulsive decision after seeing Zola and Nkululeko together.

Jyothi threatens Nirupa. Jyothi moves into Nirupa’s by force. Nirupa calls the cops and they remove Jyothi kicking and screaming vowing to get them for this. At the Bhengu house Sibongile loses Zithulele and Nokuzola’s baby.

Nkululeko returns with baby Nozi safe and sound, he makes an announcement to the family that causes major chaos. Things get darker for the Rampersads, Jyothi seeks counsel from a traditional water lady who instructs her to perform a ritual that will lead to Nirupa’s and Shria’s punishment.
