What are the MTV EMAs?!
They're described as the alternative to the MTV Video Music Awards, which are always held in America.
In contrast, the EMAs are always held in a different European country, with the inclusion of a couple of artists who aren't American in the mainstream categories.
They do have regional nominees for different European countries e.g. Best Dutch Act, Best German Act etc. but these artists aren't given the same status as the "main category nominees" when they should be.
They also have Rest of the World nominees, which is where our Best African Act fits in - also not defined as a main category because of it being regional.
Ulitmately the whole set-up is non-sensical and all-over-the-place.
