These are the primetime adult television viewing figures for March 2020.

Special notes

Whoa! See Mzansi Magic soar

Three factors came together to create record ratings for the channel's Top 5 shows in March:

1. Lockdown SA. Errbody's home to watch.

2. NO loadshedding.

3. Mzansi Magic extended to the DStv Family and Access packages in the final week of March and all the record ratings happened from 29 to 31 March. It's on these packages until 17 April.

Free-to-air boost

Viewership of all the top shows on the free-to-air channels is up from February too. Not to the same extent as DStv, but every show has a boost because of Lockdown and no loadshedding. All except for Isidingo.

Uzalo's back to over 10-million for the first time in months - ditto Skeem Saam at over 7-million - and the Xhosa and Zulu News on SABC1 are up by over a million viewers per bulletin since February.

More nonsons

Please note: the Broadcast Research Council (who compile the TAMS) included daytime shows again this month, which means there are primetime shows that haven't gotten a look-in on these lists.
