I am SO HAPPY!! So happy for Gary Oldman. His turn as Churchill was powerful and it was a transformative role. That's always a plus with the Academy and he nailed it. Congrats Gary!

@Goku the SABC is broke apparently thats why there wont be Metro awards this year .

James Franco deserved that nomination over Washington for "The Disaster Artist" oh well...

@Zondwa I was disappointed to find out that he was snubbed because of those sexual harassment allegations. They even snubbed him from making the Vanity Fair Hollywood edition cover. He would've definitely been nominated otherwise. What a let down for James. Oh well...

Odd that they snub James Franco for these reasons and not do likewise with Gary Oldman for domestic abuse allegations.  Personally I think it is possible to separate the art from the artist's "private" life, I'm just curious about the Academy's rationale and criteria for choosing who to snub and who not to.........
I hear Kobe Bryant also won and the film Get Out also won ....
