Show Me Your Garden

In the backyards of Britain are some of the most stunning, intriguing, and sometimes eccentric gardens.

Behind each one of these gardens is a passionate green-fingered gardener; proud of the plot they've created – proud enough that they believe their plots are so special that they are willing to hold them up to the scrutiny of their peers in the hope that their outside space will be crowned the winner and they'll take home the coveted Golden Trowel.

Each episode will take us to a different region in Britain and Ireland. We will meet three gardening enthusiasts who take it in turn to visit, appraise & judge each other's gardens.

Differing in their gardening taste and styles, this group are highly opinionated about what makes a garden great. Some are design purists, whilst others have a more relaxed approach to potting and pruning.

To win the prize of £500 and the 'Show Me Your Garden' Golden Trowel, each gardener must host an open day to show off their pride and joy. They must also demonstrate a horticultural skill or share a gardening secret with their peers.

This element of the show gives great tips and advice to the audience at home, with insight and inspiration into topiary, creating espaliered trees, bamboo arches, making a stone planter, planting for all seasons interest, and great tips in pruning, propagating and pond care.

At the end of the day, taking into account all these elements, the garden will be scored and a winner will emerge.

This series gives viewers a chance to peek over the hedge into Britain's gardens – from pristine patches in suburbia to quirky wild country gardens and colourful urban jungles, with a clash of gardening tastes and styles in every show.
