The winners of Season 1 haven't had time to process their millionairre win yet and already a new season has been confirmed.

M-Net has ordered a second helping of My Kitchen Rules SA, which wrapped on the channel on Sunday night (10 December).

The season was won by Bloemfontein husband and wife team Jamandi and Machiel Bekker who scored themselves a cool R1-million when they beat their fellow finalists, besties Charnell and Kerry from Johannesburg’s Weltevreden Park.

Season 2 will follow the same format as Season 1 with the same R1-million prize.

There are two phases to the competition:

Instant Restaurant

The pairs have to host the show’s other contestants as well as two celebrity chefs in their own home. They have to turn their home into an instant restaurant and cook up a three course meal.

The Kitchen Headquarters

The action continues with a series of challenges in the My Kitchen Rules South Africa (MKR) kitchen headquarters as well as in various locations around South Africa.

Who can audition?

Both members of the team have to be South African citizens or have permanent residence status and you have to be 18-years-old on 13 January 2018.

You can enter with your bestie, bae, spouse, neighbour - it doesn't matter who BUT there needs to be a real connection between you and your teammate.

You need to be able to put together a creative menu in your own personal style and there needs to be a real connection between you and your teammate.

How to audition

You need to join the My Kitchen Rules 2 WhatsApp group where you'll be alerted to the audition dates and venues. Here's a link to it: MKR2 WhatsApp

Must knows

The season will air on M-Net from July 2018 and filming takes place between 12 February and 16 July 2018 for approximately 45 days, which might fall on work days.

You'll find further FAQs on the show and season on the My Kitchen Rules website here: My Kitchen Rules 2.
