Mountain ranges cover 25% of our planet, and 40% of the world's population depend upon them to survive, yet to most of us they are a secret hidden realm.
This series embarks on an awe-inspiring journey to three of the most iconic mountain ranges on the planet with a narrative arc taking us from the foothills up to the soaring peaks.
Episode one explores the Rockies; a beautiful wilderness of snow-capped peaks and hidden valleys, that is home to remarkable people and extraordinary animals including cougar, wolverine, wolves, and grizzly bears. It's a place where daredevil wingsuit fliers jump from mile high peaks and Native American tribes compete in breakneck horse races.
Episode two explores the Himalayas; the highest mountain range on Earth that's home to remarkable ancient cultures. As snow leopards creep into isolated mountain villages in search of food, bizarre-looking monkeys huddle for warmth in a frozen forest.
The final episode reveals the astonishing hidden worlds of the Andes. Puma hunt in lost mountains, spectacled bears search for water in hidden valleys, and a bizarre frog lives in a cloud forest on a remote mountaintop.
