Igazi reaches hit status as the No.1 show on Mzansi Magic

Mzansi Magic's supernatural drama Igazi has proven to be a smash hit for the channel and production company Ferguson Films. The series, which ended this past Sunday (3 July), was only on air for three months but it burst in with high ratings and then rammed out the competition by taking the No. 1 spot on the channel.

The show's most popular episode in June was watched by 1,289,272 viewers, beating long standing fan favourites My Perfect Wedding and isiBaya who attracted 1,226,037 and 1,029,891 viewers respectively.

Both series have headlined the ratings on the channel since the ratings for Mzansi Magic have been available so outperforming both of them is a big coup.

Igazi hasn't only taken on pay TV favourites but also managed to challenge free-to-air TV. It beat SABC3's Isidingo's which recorded an episode high of 1,199,353 viewers in June.

We have no doubt that Mzansi Magic will be scribbling their pens to sign Season 2 soon.

@QQ the last episode was the worst, to make things worse was that it was followed by the best episode if the season (the one that aired before the last). Their problem is that they couldnt be creative with the ending, they wanted to pave a way for S2, but thats unfair to viewers, we deserve a decent ending. They probably did it on purpose to increase the demand for S2 by leaving us with more questions than answers.

My sentiments exactly. A very poor ending. I hated it.
