Ever wondered what goes into making one of the biggest music stables in South Africa? This January, Mzansi Magic takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes journey to reveal what goes into hit maker Afrotainment.

Tune in on 14 January at 20h00.

Ezase Afro: The Empire follows the powerhouse music stable Afrotainment, headed by the Durban born star and entrepreneur, Mthokozisi Khathi, popularly known as DJ Tira who has been delivering hit after hit.

He has been on the forefront of some of SA’s biggest house music sensations including DJ Fisherman, DJ Cindo and Big Nuz. From the friendships and the family to jet set lifestyle to the pressures of fame, it’s an up close look at how Afrotaiment became a success.

What does it take to get to the top and stay there? Tira is about to let the curtain down on his life, his business, his deal-making and recording breaking success in this reality series that will follow him and Afrotainment. Stay close because it promises to be a roller-coaster ride - from meeting tight deadlines for corporate clients to hitting the stage full force tom demanding studio recordings to tour difficulties, the series won’t miss a beat as it showcases it all.

Commenting on Ezase Afro: The Empire, M-Net Director of Local Interest Channels, Nkateko Mabaso says, “Personality driven reality television continues to draw consistently high ratings across the world, and in South Africa that trend is also evident. Audiences want to share in the experiences of famous individuals whose lives are interesting, dynamic and evolving. Locally, DJ Tira is one of this country’s most versatile stars and viewers will get the chance to see just why he is talented, popular and successful.

Tune in to Ezase Afro: The Empire on Mzansi Magic, Channel 161 on the 14th of January at 20:00.
