Mzanzi Magic pokes its nose into family rifts

Mzansi Magic continues to poke its nose into other people's business with a new reality show called Please Step In. Our Perfect Wedding, Love Back and uTatakho all take cameras into the chaos of everyday life and Please Step In is no different.

It centres round families and tries to help them solve problems caused by one particular member at the centre of a family rift i.e. it's an intervention, similar to Khumbul'ekhaya.

Enter TV presenter and community leader Dosto Noge and counsellor Angie Diale...

... and the families are put through a process of trying to work things out.

The concept and structure of the show works in two parts: family members start by sitting down with Angie and Dosto to talk about the dynamics at play in their lives and why a particular individual is creating tension, unhappiness or concern.

Then, the individual at the centre of the issue is invited to engage with the family in a session, also facilitated by Angie and Dosto. Their main objective is to try to help those involved find a positive way forward.

Issues that come up in the families featured include substance abuse, anti-social behaviour, violence and alcoholism.

The timing of the show gives Mzansi Magic a perfect tagline to work with on Monday nights:

Take a walk down The Road and Please Step In.

It premieres on Monday, 31 August at 20h00, directly after the debut of the channel's new telenovela The Road, which debuts at 19h30.

Talk of Dosto Noge and I remember Selimathunzi back in the 90s. Where has he been all this time? I've got to check this one out. Mzansi Magic is creating quite entertaining reality shows lately. I've noticed that a lot of people enjoy Our Perfect Wedding.

I must say Mzansi magic has got a good strategy of grouping interesting shows together. It almost gurantees viwership.  You dont want to change after one show you just watch the next. They started with Sunday, Tuesdays its Dineos diary followed by utatakho, now its Monday The Road and this new show
