The Royalty Soapie Awards are back with a bang, bigger and better. Now you have a say deciding which actor wins.

We have reliably learned major industry soapies were not exactly pleased with the inaugural Royalty Soapie Awards (RSAs) after Isibaya deservedly cleaned almost all the award categories last year. Now it seems the RSAs want viewers to join in the judges in deciding who wins.

7de Laan's Jo da Silva as Gita

This year the Royalty Soapie Awards allows viewers of the soapies to cast the final vote and determine who the winners are for the Outstanding 7 categories. It is you that dedicates hours of your week to watching these beloved soapies and supporting your favourite characters. It is you that brings them to life and it will be you that will make them a winner!

You will provide a true reflection of industry sentiment, encouraging healthy competition and ultimately assisting in growing the quality of our productions!

The following Outstanding 7 categories for final vote by dedicated viewers are:

Outstanding Lead Actor; Outstanding Lead Actress; Outstanding Male Villain; Outstanding
Female Villain; Outstanding Supporting Actor; Outstanding Supporting Actress and
Outstanding Newcomer.

IT’S UP TO YOU! SMS VOTE LINES OPEN 19 FEBRUARY 2015 AND CLOSE 20 MARCH 2015

On 28 March 2015, winners will be announced at Durban International Convention Centre.

Whoever takes home the Royalty Soapie Award statuette depends on your vote, so get your fingers
SMSing. It’s the most loved South African soap stars of the year! The programme that got you glued to your screen, characters that made you fall in love, made you mad, the hot gossip at tea with your friends! The competition for this one is tight and the result is a win for soapie democracy.

Vote for your favourite South African soapie actor, actress, villain or newcomer by sending an sms with the letter representing the category you are voting for followed by the number representing your favourite characters to [49441] e.g.: A-1

@Sikho, please see follow the full list of nominees to see the reasons why Generations was not nominated. @Tashi, I think the best female Villain is gonna go to Gita. Jo da Silva is a one of the very few brilliant actresses of our times. She's so on point you would think she is evil in real life. I love to hate her, not Shakira. However, Dawn is also a great actresses and indeed, Jo has great competition in the form of Dawn.  I think when it comes to best male villain, we are all in agreement, no one does it like Barker Haines.  And, uhm, why is Iris nominated as best female villain? She's a trophy wife and not a villain. Yes she's scheming and calculation but I wouldn't agree with the alleged villain role.
