From Popstars to Idols.

The Idols losers have been separated from those with potential and the battle between them is officially on.

The Top 16 Idols finalists were revealed on the show on Sunday night (24 August) and now it's up to them to impress.

Most impressive to us right now is Bongi Silinda because of her Popstars pedigree. As you may know, Bongi was a finalist on Season 4 of Popstars - she didn't make it to be part of the winning group Nne-Vida so it's good to see her in the action again.

"You don't need this show to be a popstar," said Randall.

I was like wow, this girl is good. Considering the fact that she is only 16 and vocally mature, I think she will go very far in the competition.

Idols 10 Top 16 finalist Vincent Bones
This is my favourite Idol since when he first audition and his story somehow just made me wanna vote for him. Buut that will be based on his talent. However, a colleague of mine Mbuzi, says Idols should not focus on personal stories but only the music of the Idols. I argued each person has a story to tell and such a story influences us in most things we do. But I believe the producers of such shows tell personal stories to give the show substance. Now, my question is, how does one's personal story influence the voting public?

A case in point perhaps could be seen in I Want To Sing Gospel 1 where Mzoxolo Rafani lost the crown to Lungisani Ntuli, this after Lungisani's humble home was shown on the show.

Wow- Idols 10 is really gonna be interesting hey. Am I seeing right: Tebogo Louw didn't make it? Tebogo Louw didn't make it? Big up to all the Top 16.
