What really DOES make men tick?! According to The Man Cave, among other things, fast cars, beautiful women and lots of adventure. Janez has invited South Africa to join him on a 13-episode journey to see if that answer is correct.

I caught up with Janez and asked him a few questions:

Amanda: Janez, so nice to be part of the media launch for your brand new show, The Man Cave. How did you come up with the concept?

Janez:  The Man Cave came about because we realized there was no South African show showcasing what men are all about and what men love to do. This show is basically a reality highlight package of what makes us tick.

Amanda: Tell us a bit about Cheeky Media. (I love the name). How long has it been around?

Janez: Cheeky Media is a new production company founded at the beginning of this year. At Cheeky we do things differently and most importantly we do it with love, passion and an element of cheekiness :)

Amanda: So the name "Man Cave" makes it sound as though your target audience excludes women. Is that true?

Janez: "The Man Cave" may sound like it excludes a female audience, however it should  attract both a female and male viewership due to the fact that we delve into what men are really all about!

Amanda: So, a few years ago, I did this CRAZY thing called Survivor. I am a girly girl so I am not sure HOW I survived until the end but I imagine that you would handle it quite easily. Would you ever consider doing Survivor??

Janez: I have actually always wanted to do Survivor. I even auditioned for season 1, before my TV presenting days!

Janez looks Survivor ready, hey? lol

Amanda: Cool! Well you know Survivor involves a LOT of starvation. What is your favourite food that you would then miss the most?

Janez:  I love Thai cuisine and Hamburgers!

Amanda: Tell South Africa when and where they can tune in to The Man Cave this season.

Janez: Man Cave airs every Wednesday evening at 8pm on SABC 3 and will run for 13 weeks. Episode 2 airs tonight! Hopefully season 2 becomes an hour show as there is so much content we would love to explore.

Amanda: Last question (and this is a TOUGH question for you). If you could choose to visit any country in the world, where would it be? BUT it HAS to be a country you've never been to before. Name that country and say why.

Janez: The one place I would still love go visit is Timbuktu(southern edge of the Sahara Desert) in the West African country of Mali. I’m an adventurer at heart and its destinations that are rich in history that appeal to me most.

Good ones!! Thanks a million!

I actually caught up with Miss South Africa, Rolene Strauss, at the Banana Republic Launch last week and she will be featured in tonight’s episode of The Man Cave. Check out the Banana Republic Launch blog for more!

Tune in tonight at 8pm on SABC 3!!

The thing that troubles me about men loving fast cars is when they actually buy them - they should be using the cash to buy us girls pressies instead.
