2014 PSL Awards

Sunday night saw the rewarding of those players that excelled in various positions of the Premier Soccer League, Cup Competitions and National First Division. It was the 2014 PSL Awards that took place at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The event was set up in their usual fashion and hosted by Robert Marawa and Carol Tshabalala from Supersport together with Thomas Mlambo and Minenhle Dlamini from SABC. On the red carpet the night was hosted by Andile Ncube and Nandi Mngoma.

The whistle of commencing the event was blown by Dr Irvin Khoza and congratulating champions Platinum Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns, Chippa United and Orlando Pirates in his opening speech. Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits were the most favorites of the night as they were regulars on stage.

The awards were presented as follows: Telkom Knockout Champions - Platinum Stars Telkom Knockout Player Of The Tournament - Mogakolodi Ngele (Platinum Stars) MTN 8 Champions - Platinum Stars MTN Last Man Standing - Robert Ngambi (Platinum Stars) Nedbank Cup Champions - Orlando Pirates Nedbank Cup Most Promisisng Player - Kwanda Mngonyama (Bidvest Wits) Nedbank Cup Player Of The Tournament - Sibusiso Vilakazi (Bidvest Wits) NFD Top Goal Scorer - David Zulu (Former Black Leopards) NFD Champions - Chippa United PSL Assistant Referee Of The Season - Edward Madidilane PSL Referee Of The Season - Zolile Mthetho ABSA Premiership Champions 2013/2014 - Mamelodi Sundowns ABSA Premiership Goalkeeper Of The Season - Itumeleng Khune (Kaizer Chiefs) ABSA Premiership Hot Young Player Of The Season - Keagan Dolly (Ajax Cape Town) ABSA Premiership Coach Of The Season - Pitso Mosimane (Mamelodi Sundowns) ABSA Premiership Top Goal Scorer - Bernard Parker (Kaizer Chiefs) ABSA-lutely Awesome Goal Of The Season - Hlompho Kekana (Mamelodi Sundowns) ABSA Premiership Players Player Of The Season - Sibusiso Vilakazi (Bidvest Wits) 2014 Chairmans Award - Mato Madlala PSL Footballer Of The Season - Sibusiso Vilakazi (Bidvest Wits) Mafikizolo did not get as much awards as they did on the SAMA Awards 2014, to be precise they did not get any award but they got more time than any other performers on stage as they appeared twice on stage. Zahara also paid tribute on her performance to the late former South African President, President Nelson Mandela. Congratulations to all the winners...
