The 8th annual South African Film and Video Awards took place at Gallagher Estate in Midrand this weekend (4 and 5 April) and Saturday night's ceremony aired live on SABC3.

The ceremony was hosted by comedy duo Tumi Morake and Alan Committie while red carpet darling Bonang Matheba headlined the build-up.

The stars of the night were Siyabonga Thwala and Tina Jaxa who snatched themselves two Golden Horns each. As you'll see, Siyabonga won Best Actor in a Drama and Soapie and Tina won Best Actress in a Drama and Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film.

The production of the show was horrificly bad. They really need to fix it; especially how the waiters just freely walked around and all those empty seats being in full view. You never see such things at the Oscars, Emmys or Grammys!

The wild shouldn't be there at all. Mxm. How did 7de laan win best soapie? It canbe racist at times. You will never see a white person dating a black person in 7de laan. Arg. So annoyed.

@babytee I agree with you on what you said about The Wild; but you know why 7de Laan won...? It's fans voted for it, and because it's probably the only true family soap on TV.
