After closing last week Saturday's Channel O Africa Music Video Mafikizolo has climbed up 3 places to reach the peak position for the second time this year. Their current #1, "Happiness", has garnered almost 250 000 views on Youtube. The song has been getting up on their feet as early as May and it still maintaining this mood due to the release of the video over two months. "Happiness" has been of the chart for 12 weeks.
Staying stagnant at #2 is Zahara's "Phendula". "Phendula" is a former #1 and is first single from her second album of the same name.
After 18 weeks and in at #3 Starboy is still looking for "Caro". The song climbs up from last week's #8. At this rate maybe "Caro" doesn't want to be found. "Caro" has had some erratic movement on the chart, a characteristic shared by Mi Casa's "Jika", which finds itself back into the top ten again. "Jika" climbs up 4 places to #7. "Jika" has been on the chart for 18 weeks of which it has spent two non-consective weeks outside the top ten.
Continuing the theme of long-running chart success is Davido with "Skelewu". "Skelewu" debuted 15 weeks ago and has never left the top ten. "Skelewu" climbs from last week's #10 to this week's #4. Rounding out the top 5 is Olamide with "Duro Soke" which was #1 a fortnight ago.
The Hot Shot Debut Award goes to a collaboration by KCee and Wizkid called "Pull Over". "Pull Over" debuts at #6. For Wizkid this is third top ten appearance in the past three months. Moving from one collabo to another and in at #8 is Ice Prince featuring Frech Montana.
"Voom Va" by Skuki tumbles down 6 places to this week's #9. The ultra catchy "Voom Va" fairs off much better than last week's #1, "Down On One", which drops down 9 places to #10.
Peeping outside the top ten door is Toya DeLazy with "Memoriam". "Memoriam" is the sixth single taken off her award-winning debut album "Due Drop". The song remains at #11 for another week and might finally brrak into the top ten next week.
