When Generations reaches the soapie's 20th year in February next year, it'll be without Melusi Yeni. The hottie, who plays Phenyo Dlomo, is being written out of the show.

The storyline that'll see his exit features him facing various choices and difficult challenges.

Melusi's been with Generations for a year and a half - he joined the show in February 2012.

Word from an insider close to the soapie is that the reason for Phenyo's exit has to do with the storyline and that further details can't be divulged so as not to spoil what's going to happen next.

Things will unfold over the next few months and he makes his exit in December.

Good riddance, the guy is a good actor but his character on generations is one of the reasons i don't watch the show anymore cos it's not doing his acting skills any justice

How does a character not do justice to a skilled actor? That's dump. It's like saying the ball doesn't do justice to a talented footballer. Actors, if they are really good they should be able to crack every character. Menzi has cracked every role he's ever played so has Nambitha. Melusi may have been good on other things but he failed on Gen lets be honest. May he wasn't ready for such a challenge but don't blame the character he should've cracked it if he was so good. Clearly he wasn't

So releved that he is leaving Gen and i have to agree with Gqimgqim if he was really a good actor he could have cracked this one just fine, to be a good actor you must be able to act on any field, if you cant act good on other field and yet be good on the others, then why do we say your good?anyway good luck, i hope you wont be joining ROCKVILLE.

let him go..................i will not miss him even for a second.....here are my 10 reasons he should just go & i will not miss him

1.he was a serial cheater.....withou even using protection (condom) atleast
2.he was power hungry for a business he did not build
3.he was given everything by sibusiso but could not be satiesfied even for a second
4.he was greedy
5.he did not treat his wife well
6.he did not do know how to treat his family well
7.he was un-appreciative of his family
8.he was not a man enough....like dineo will say"..he did not have a spine or cannot man up when he should have"
9.he did not support his wife well in front of his mother who was awlys after dineo no matter what dineo do...even if its a good thing
10.he put sibusiso in jail so that he can control his business when he cannot build his own business

SO GO MELUSI YENI GO.....................

True Gqimgqim, we never blame a character even with movie stars. Brad Pitt was good in Seven, which was a different character from Oceans 11,12,13, so was all other characters he's played. Always totally different but he nails them. Now you are going to blame Generations for the failure of the actor. Come on people! Yes, you love Melusi but not at the expense of other people's creativity. He failed on Generation, and that's that. Yes, ubeyisiyoyoyo - true talented actors can play anything from siyoyoyo to hobo, to thug to thief to rapist to priest to anything, a good actor cracks it. He just didn't play being a siyoyoyo well - has nothing to do with Generations but him as an actor, clearly he can't play everything, so he is not that great. He is good but he is okay. Like Gqimgqim says Menzi, Nambitha, Vusi Kunene, the guy who played Kenneth Mashaba, we've seen them in movies, in other dramas, they nail every character and different characters they are given. They do them exceptionally well - now those are GREAT actors. Stop blaming Generations for everything people, that is unfair and you know it.

It's a sad thing to see somebody lose their job but hey Melusi was not good at this one. I believe now he has to audition at Scandal or Rhythm City cos basically Generations is the ceiling of all actors in Mzansi. Only few exit Gen and do well out there.

am phenyo dlomo did play his character very attitude-less manner the fact remains that he don't get satisfied and appreciate his family,and the ngamla MR wish you all the success you will shine we all know that the character don't display's the true me in life style.

I also think that he was not gud for the part he was doing, he was actually boring especially with the issue of opening Sibusiso's closet because of his empirer, it sucked so much!!!!

Wow hAi people mr melusi yeni be aware the world is gonna kill you because of your character. But I think we should blame Director and a Writer because those people are the 1 who make melusi to do that
