Bold Switch AFCON

The new year's almost with us and with it come major schedule disruptions to the SABC channels.

Because there's still no sign of the promised SABC Sports channel, SABC1 will be the main broadcast channel of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament takes place in South Africa from 19 January to 10 February and will be the dominant event on the SABC1 schedule.

Many of the channel's flagship daily shows will be moving to SABC2 to avoid disruption for the duration of the tournament, specifically the soapies and news bulletins.

These are the shows that are moving, with their broadcast times:

17h45 Siswati/Ndebele News Bulletin
18h00 The Bold & The Beautiful
19h30 Xhosa/Zulu News Bulletin
20h00 Generations
20h30 Zone 14 (On Mondays and Wednesdays)

This is what the daily SABC2 primetime schedule will look like as a result:

17h45 Siswati/Ndebele News Bulletin
18h00 The Bold & The Beautiful
18h30 7de Laan
19h00 Afrikaans News Bulletin
19h30 Xhosa/Zulu News Bulletin
20h00 Generations
20h30
Changing daily shows:
Zone 14 - Mondays
Mponeng - Tuesdays
Zone 14 - Wednesdays
Speak Out - Thursdays
Lesilo Rula - Fridays
21h00 Muvhango (not on Fridays)

This daily schedule switch begins on Monday, 21 January and runs until the end of the Cup.

This is not fair...why Sabc2??? They should have moved those shows to Sabc3....what about our Tshivenda and Xitsonga news?? They will be aired for a lousy 15min. Zone14 can take a break during that time...I cannot afford to miss my D0/50 and Pasella nee ek stem saam nie. Gen and nguni news were squeezed in between broadcast of 2010 Fifa cup which is a biiiiiiig tournament not this orange what what. Ai these shows must be squeezed wherever but on Sabc2
