7de Laan actress Themsie Times returned to set on Thursday (13 September) after her car was written off in an upsetting accident on Wednesday.
The 62-year-old actress, who plays Maria on the soapie, was on her way home on Wednesday when her Audi’s left front tyre burst on the N1. She stopped her car on the shoulder of the highway and called her son to help her.
15 minutes later, while she was waiting, a woman in a BMW crashed into the back of her parked car:

ER24 had to free Themsie from the wreck and she was taken to the Helen Joseph Hospital by helicopter where X-rays were taken of her head, neck, spine, chest and hips. Nothing was broken, but her hip was injured and she has extensive bruising to her arm, side and hip.
Onlookers at the scene of the accident and medical staff at the hospital recognised her immediately.
This from Themsie about it: “Even while I was lying on the stretcher, people said “it’s Maria from 7delaan” and took photos of me - the nurses at the hospital, too,".
While everyone uploaded them to Facebook (we assume it's the first thing they did), the cast, crew and her family waited for news on how she was doing. Needless to say everyone was relieved and grateful that she escaped more serious injury.
