Genuine Fakes (5 April 2010)

On Motswako tonight (5 April, 2010):

Gucci, Louis, Hugo and Chanel - these names need no introduction in fact most of us are slaves to them. The cheapest Louis Vuitton bag will set you back eight grand, but you’ll see many young women wearing them.

Yes the knock-offs are doing their rounds and while some people will save up for months for the real thing, most would rather go shopping in the boot of some savvy sales ladies’ cars. Do you have a fake Louis Vuitton bag? If so we want to school you on how you can look fabulous without costing another child labourer an 18-hour day sewing your ‘Fong Kong’ Gucci.

Penny Lebyane speaks to a bevy of fashion gurus and a Knock-Off Sales Executive. It’s gonna be steaming hot.

Plus Motswako launches two proudly South African fashion designers for a welcome relief from all things fake.

Motswako is on SABC2 on Mondays at 21h30.

The bottom line is we do not have money to buy expensive and original GUCCI.
Let them talk until JESUS come back.

Amen, Floh. By buying these fong kongs we are actually creating jobs. What are the chances of that 18-year old finding another job in SA?
