Avatar's VERY Crap Theme Song

"Someone saaave me from this con-song"
Argh! I've just seen a video of Leona Lewis doing a live performance of the theme song to James Camerons' movie Avatar and I'm stumped at how terrible it is.

Since Leona won the X-Factor I've grooved on her bigtime - I have her albums and everything - so I'm iffy that she'd find herself in the situation.

If you haven't heard it yet: the song's eye-stabbingly called "I See You" and it goes on and on - with no tune or any memorable moments whatsoever.

It sounds wrong, directionless, bland and baaadly-sung - but it has nothing to do with Leona - it's all the fault of the song itself.

The sense it gives is that the writers were told they had to Top the impact and epic-ness of "My Heart Will Go On" from Titantic so they've tried to make it sound sort of like it and it's turned out to be an untuneful, cringe photostat of it.

It's so bad I can't believe anyone actually signed off on it for the film in the first place. Surely-surely someone involved must have heard the problem? Could it be a case of the Emporers New Clothes where no-one wanted to say anything?

I've browsed and see it was written by people who were involved in writing the Titanic theme so maybe everyone who first heard it thought: "It must just be me who thinks it's so rubbish so I won't mention anything."

I reckon even Leona thinks so - it could be my imagination working overtime out of shock but she didn't seem impressed and into-it in the video I saw.

It better not reach No 1 - if it does it'll be the Con of 2010.

Lol Tashi! I haven't heard the song yet I already hate it.

So sad though I can imagine to have to sin a song you don't even feel, supposing Leona feels the same way you do about the song:(

I felt it fit the context of the movie perfectly.

lol, the problem might be with Leona. Lets face it, the girl has a great voice but dayum... could someone please loan the poor girl some personality. I saw her London concert recently and she looked so stiff funny enough its when she tried to walk across the stage that she actuall looked bad. i found myself thinking, maybe she should've just stood there and not moved cos this is worse. I wasnt suprised to read on RUMMER that not a single notable celeb showed up at the after party, not even Simon! (well except for those Z-rate celebs from Eastenders)

Im sorry but if she doesnt step up her game Alexander Burke will soon be The "Black" English Rose and she will be "that girl with a nice voice, whats her name again?"

sometimes good voices and great songs happen to lousy perfomers  who have no presence whatsoever...even in SA...if you've seen Bongi Dube onStage you'll understand what I'm sayin

BTW AVATAR ROCKS great movie even though the story is blah  blah !..the batle and the visuals, AWESOME
