I'm a sucker for lists! Rich lists, Sexiest Lists, whatever list you give, I will read. So, when I saw an issue of Football Arena last week talking about a list of 50 Most Influential People In South African Football, I wanted to take out my R4.95 and buy but I remembered how disappointed I was after religiously buying their first 3 issues (all in the name of supporting a South African product), so I thought, hayikhona.
Well this week, a friend of mine gave me a copy he had received from someone so thanks to him I was finally able to read through their list :-)

With that said, I've learnt quite a lot from him in terms of rules of the game and how discipline is applied)

Richard Maguire has been with Kickoff for some time now....He took over from Mark Gleeson as Editor of Kickoff in the 90's

I only bought the first issue....R4,95 is a lot of money to waste. I still buy Soccer Laduma every Wednesday....only for Siyagobhoza.

Walter should not be there. He is not as clued up about sports as he should be. the things he says are just not on. If he made the list then Tshepo Mabona and Carol Manana should have made the list. I hate the way Walter says his name. arrrg

Robert Marawa is the man. The is more to him then just being a presenter. He deserves a better title. Who is that guy that Robert calls when there's an update on legal disputes or disciplinary hearing in clubs? He should have made the list. He is the most well spoken and knowledgeable person I've heard on Radio.

Sylvester Ndaba' title does not do justice to him. This man is the man when it comes to rules and regulations of soccer

Big J- Jomo Sono should have also made the list. He has the capabilities to influence how things should be handled. And some players look up to him.

@Kiki X: Robert is able to get the really influencial people on his show and is able to get the answers that us the listeners need. Walter is annoying and his voice is annoying. The way he says his name is annoying and worse, he doesnt know half as much about sports as Robert does. He was only given the platform by SABC because Robert left.

GML, thats why i like Walter for those same reasons that annoy you ngaye. He saw a gap and utilized it, and that is why he has his own company. Most of the times what works is putting yourself and your future first. So Marawa can entertain you with his voice but i hope i wont have to cough up my hard earned cash one day for his surgery after something has happenned to the voice or throat....If he gets fired, what is he gon do kahle kahle???lol
