Doing the Rounds....

Written by Brown Shuga from the blog SHUGAS BLOGIWOOD on 18 Jan 2009

Wassup dear readers! So I'm in a bit of a good mood today (meaning I got nothing to do) so I've decided to share what caught my eye in the papers this Sunday....
Truth be told, there is nothing interesting to read about in the tabloids these days and that's why I've stopped buying (online reading) & lost interest in doing the "reviews" or discussion blogs zomgosi...or maybe there are interesting topics, it's just that I'm getting old....mmhh...asazi....

Before I get to what's in the news....please allow me to share the highlights of my week...

First up is definitely Paul Mtirara from Metro FM:

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard him say, live on air:

".........today we have a new feature on the show, which I'm not happy about but we have to do it. After every commercial break we have to play a local track......."

These may not be his exact words but yeah he was introducing the new feature that he is not too happy with but did it coz he HAD to do it.
Now, first of all, why is he being forced to do a feature on his show that he's not happy with? Segale again? Lol

What that little comment told me is that someone is autocratic and not consulting the DJ's & get their thoughts and input on the suggested changes. That's how it works isn't it?

My second highlight was brought by ACE from GENERATIONS!

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of Ace or his real name but heish, props to him for making me laugh so much....

If you missed Generations, Ace went to visit Khethiwe and when he heard that she was no longer the face of La Chocolada (sp), Ace told Khethiwe :

"But you were the reason why I was buying the chocolates! I'm not gonna buy the chocolates anymore, they've just lost a valuable customer!"

Writing it doesn't sound as funny but hey, there was something about the emotion in his voice & the expression on his face when he said this that made it the funniest thing I've heard in Generations in ages. Also the most stupid!
Like, who cares about Aids buying chocolates!

"Sharon Dee sues Peter Ndlovu for maintenance"

According to the Sunday World, Sharon Dee is demanding R36000+ a month from Peter Ndlovu, former Sundowns player who's supposedly playing for Thanda Royal (the club we trashed 2-1 today).

The paper reports that Sharon wants Peter to pay R13 000 for each of the two kids and R10000 to her because she pays pays more than R4 500 a month in school fees for the two kids.

R36 000????? Wow, how much does Peter Ndlovu earn kanti & why must his ex-wife go to court for him to maintain his kids?
My black brothers you dissapoint me with this whole "papgeld" thing... How do you look at your kids mara?
And it's always the well paid ones abasokolisayo :-(

Josta Dladla moving to Kaizer Chiefs!!

So the rumour that Josta Dladla is moving to Naturena is sort of confirmed...

Mmh...I think Josta will fit in very well in our team, he must just not bring us "skhokhololo" sa Sundowns ko Chiefs.
Chiefs must please slaughter a white chicken & bamgeze ngesiwasho when he arrives. We can't afford to have ibhadi lase Chloorkop brought to our team!

Welcome Josta...we could use more cuties in the team!

On that tip, let me just congratulate BENNI MCCARTHY for his awesome spell at Blackburn Rovers...keep doing us proud Benni. Mkhaba of nie!

Vukile Zondi leaves YFM to Join 5FM .....
On Wednesday, Bizcommunity reported that Vukile (YFM's Programmes Manager)  was leaving YFM to join 5FM as their Programming Manager....

eish, naye he looks so much like my gorgeous ex

Well, congratulations to Vukile and all the best to you bhuti!
It's just a pity he isn't joining 5FM's neighbour! LOL

Thandiswa Mazwai is hogging the headlines for ALL THE RIGHT REASONS and she says she hates tabloids and being a celebrity....

We're all waiting for her 2nd solo offering with much anticipation....thanks to her brillian single "INGOMA" which has been dominating the airwaves these past few weeks. We are really fortunate to still have artists as dedicated to their work as Thandiswa is and I also believe that being a good musician is not releasing an album every year for the sake of releasing. It should always be about what they are releasing to us....
Anyway, the Sunday Times & City Pulse Magazines both put the Diva on their covers. I enjoyed reading both interviews so if you're a fan of Thandiswa, or just want to know more about her....read on....

“I know many people think I have a bad attitude, but it’s just that I really try to avoid some of these celebrity-related things. Being a celebrity is the most boring thing in the world. I don’t crave that lifestyle. I just wish that I could do my work, get paid and go home.....  Read more in Sunday TImes Magazine

“The media is scared of me because I am not afraid to tell them where to get off. It’s only when they cross the line and ask things they shouldn’t be asking and they know when they cross the line.”  Read more in City Press

I am not really a Thandiswa fan, but I admire her originality, she is always herself and doesn't mind exposing her flaws. But ke when it comes to the media and her daughter I do think she is rather paranoid, it's almost like her child is in hiding and is always seen if it's a must that she leaves the house with her.

That is the problem right there! Osistaz must start thinking for themselves. There are diseases and stuff out there, never mind the poor kids they are making for imali ye papgeld.

If you are grown enough to have sex, you must be grown enough to raise you baby, even if it means doing it without the babydaddy.

Peter Ndlovu should take the kids from Sharon Dee to stay with him, and ask her to pay the amount, and see if she can.People are just ruthless and greedy out there, they treat u differently, especially when you are a foreigner. This is XENOPHOBIA, at its best. in my books.

mara Y THE HEK DAZ SHE NEEDS TO BE MAINTAINED FOR???? Isnt the dude suppose to pay for the kids only?? This daznt make sense,, really, Sharon needs to get a job, PERIOD!!!  No Awe, that is not how it's done sthandwa. divorce is a very expensive thing altogether...the financially strong spouse gets ordered to maintain the other less monied partner, but for a certain period. It doesn't have to be a man supporting a woman, it can be the other way round. If the person was at fault (adultry...) and s/he is well off, well s/he gets cleaned and be taught a lesson period!

Are you guys talking about those red n white/ navy & white arab looking scarfs?

@LM-voice of reason!!

Alimony has to be paid to the unemployed spouse in order to maintain the life S/he has become accustomed to until such a time when S/he is employed or married again!! And it is in accordance to what the man/woman(Halle Berry pays Eric Bennet alimony) can afford! I dont know what Peter Ndlovu is making now but when he was playing in England and Sundowns he was making well over R100 000, so he isnt exactly a victim here. She too was at home taking care of everthing and left behinde her career ambitions in order to folow him all over the world to maintain a steady family life...too bad he had other plans but still, she has earned every cent!!

At everything else said!-LOL you guys are really funny!!!!

these "celebrity" women can be just irrational, how is the poor guy going to survive yona xa usisi lo ezakuthatha yonke into? come on women use COMMON SENSE and stop le NONSENSE!

i always listen to the station (Metro fm) and if anyone has noticed by testify, Metro fm dj have a problem with local music: 1. they either talk while the song is playing, 2. play it seconds before the news, 3. cut it before it finishes and it's especially Paul and Eddie (the people i notice doing this).

i have to take my hat off for her, sis Mathandi is a woman at work. i hope this album just do as good as the other one. but the media part...i'm scared of her and don't want to dwell on it ( i might need her one day)

I have to agree with u on this, they like cutting local music off b4 the song is finished, most of the time, after the first chorus, I mean wtf???

Hey guys, just let Sharon be....afta all the infidelity she has had to endure over the years, she deserves to be paid, methinks. I still can't forgive Peter for what he did to her in London, inviting that bi...ch Alice or Nontobeko Miya to davaza her right under Sharon's nose...hhayi, Sharon ubeketele shem, she deserves some little compensation (ha, ha, ha).

And speaking of Alice, alias Nontobeko, I wonder what happened to her. I read in the Sharon story that she was also complaining that Peter was not paying maintenance for her kid. Does someone remember her...she's the girl who lied to Nimrod Nkosi that she was pregnant with his triplets. The poor guy shem, he proposed there and there only to find sisi was lying and it wasn't the first time...sis, some people!
