Generations: Dinny, What Have You Done?

Murder on Dinny’s mind

Dineo is reaching the end of her tether, she cannot stand living like a prisoner in her own home, her husband is one controlling, possessive son of a gun and he makes damn sure he shows her who’s boss at every turn. What is a girl to do?

She goes snooping, Dineo is determined to find dirt on Kenneth, anything that will make her have the upper hand for once so she goes into Kenny’s study when he’s not home and tries to dig around to find anything that looks vaguely interesting.

One morning, she decides to play truant and tells Kenny she’s not feeling well so she stays home and goes snooping around in his study. Imagine her surprise when she comes across Kenny’s life insurance policy which he has hidden in some thick book in his library.

What is more surprising is the contents of the insurance policy, it states that in the event of Kenny dying, his spouse will inherit R25 million smackeroons. Bingo!

Dinny’s mind is working overtime, the wheels are turning in her head, she has this information which could make a huge difference to her life, the only problem is her husband has to die so that she can be free (sounds kinda familiar).

Nevertheless, Dinny is sweetness personified, she doesn’t show or tell anybody what’s going through her mind, she decides to keep things to herself and to get as much information as she can from the internet. Not so stupid, our little Dinny!

Khetiwe who has been begging and pleading with Dineo to leave Kenneth is in for a little surprise of her own. Kenneth has been watching Dineo and listiening in on her conversations so when he picks up that Khetiwe is encouraging Dineo to leave him, he decides to step in.

He invites Khetiwe to dinner, surprising the heck out of Dineo and all through dinner, he is the perfect host even giving Khetiwe some business tips when she mentions her idea of opening a kiosk at Squalo Court.

Just before Khetiwe leaves, Kenny walks her to the door and right there and then, the evil monster comes out when he threatens and warns Khetiwe to mind her own business, to stay out of his marriage otherwise……

Khetiwe was shaken but she kept her cool, she eventually told Dineo of the threat her husband had made to her. Dineo confronted Kenneth but he just brushed her aside saying he has to protect his asset, meaning her.

The idea of poison first came to Dineo when she went to lunch with Khetiwe. There Kheti had the newspaper open and she was reading about all the wickedness which was currently happening in the world, wives killing husbands or arranging to have their husbands killed, on and on Kheti went while Dinny’s mind was working overtime.

When Khetiwe told Dinny about the rats in the building and how she had to call the exterminators in to get rid of the rats, Dinny could barely contain herself when the word “poison” came up.

Ironically that evening, Kenny suffered from food poisoning after having shrimp at a conference, Dinny was right there nursing her husband back to health and again the thought of poison came to her mind.

Again Dinny went to her laptop and looked up information with regards to lethal poisons. This girl was serious, she has every intention of killing her husband but does she have the guts to go though with it?

Things eventually come to a head when Dinny, who has been traveling with Kenny to work every morning, asks Ace to borrow his car to her since Kenny hid her car keys away.

Poor Ace was completely in a panic when Kenny gave him an errand to run, he came up with all these excuses not to go but Kenny told him bluntly “when I say jump, you ask how high”?

Lucky for Ace, Dinny came back just in the nick of time and when she’s alone we see her carrying a small suspicious looking brown paper bag, the contents? None other than poison!

The next morning she makes plans with Kenneth to have a nice romantic dinner together, she will do the cooking.

That evening Dinny is all prepared, the table setting is perfect. We see her taking the poison out of her pocket and throwing some into the wine bottle. Just then Kenny comes in and is surprised by how much effort she made. She tries to get him to drink the wine but he stalls saying it should be savoured, not gulped down. He shows her how it’s done.

Later, we see Kenneth getting a cramp, then it becomes more severe and Dinny gets him to bed helping him each time he throws up, she sponges him off but he tells her it feels like he’s dying, she should take him to hospital but all Dineo tells him is that he should just fall asleep.

We see Dineo downstairs completely freaked out, she goes onto the internet again and realizes that if he drank a certain amount of the poison, it could be fatal.

Dinny is going out of her mind, what the hell was she thinking, does she want Kenny dead or not because if Kenneth survives this and I’m sure he will, there will be hell to pay if he finds out that his wife wants to kill him. She can kiss her own life goodbye!

Queen and Busi have left the building

Queen is packing and ready to emigrate to Australia with her fiancé Steve. At first we thought, naaah something will come up, Queen will never leave. Well surprise surprise, her work mates decided to throw her a farewell party, Khetiwe made all the snacks with the assistance of Samuel and that evening, Steve took Queen to her surprise party and boy was she surprised.

Everybody had something nice to say to her off course and it was quite sweet and touching as Queenie bid her pals goodbye.

Now if any of you can confirm whether the actress Sophie Ndaba has given up Generations for good, please let me know. Although Queen had a fitting farewell, somehow I was hoping they would reflect back to Queen’s time on the show, you know the early days to the present, now that would’ve been a farewell, Generations never seem to do that when their characters leave.

According to updates given by Karabo, Queen is settling in nicely in Australia and Steve is thoroughly enjoying his new job. Somehow I’m always expecting Queen to pop up again with her tail between her legs crying to Karabo that things didn’t work out between her and Steve.

After Busi’s little stint in hospital and unknowingly mentioning the fact that she killed Jack, things were kinda strained between her and Sibusiso. He confronted her about her confession but she said she didn’t know what she was saying, maybe she meant she killed Jack with her soul, for not loving him and giving him a fair chance in life.

Soon thereafter, Busi made arrangements with Lumka to go visit her in the UK. Needless to say Karabo was not happy at all, she questioned Busi’s motives especially when Queen was also leaving but Busi asked her if she had spoken to Sibusiso since he also interrogated her about her motives, this made Karabo suspicious.

On the day that Busi was to leave, Karabo went over to Sibusiso and spoke to him about Busi, eventually he told her what he had overheard. With this information, Karabo didn’t confront Busi but rather asked her if there is anything happening in her life which she felt she needed to discuss, Busi brushed it all aside saying she was fine. Karabo then took her to the airport.

When she got back, the penthouse was rather quiet and empty, no Princie screaming the roof down, no Queenie and no Busi. Karabo felt all alone and decided to phone Anne but she got her voicemail, she then phoned Ntombi but she had already made plans with Sibusiso.

Poor Karabo! She has all the money in the world but nobody to share it with.

Later it seems as if it’s just Karabo and Anne running Ezweni, Anne has become a pain in the butt with her constant ranting and raving about taking on all Busi’s work, even her new hairstyle is pissing me off, what the heck was she thinking, that it suited her, that she looked good? Please somebody pass that woman a new wig for Pete’s sake!

When it seems that Anne is all that Karabo has and since Anne is herself lonely sitting in her hotel room night after night, Karabo invites Anne to come stay with her until Busi gets back.

Anne does not need a second invitation as we see her take Karabo up on her offer and moves in the very next day. Now the two can be best friends forever.

Karabo’s disastrous adoption plans

Karabo has fallen inlove with a little boy named Sizwe whom she met at a children’s home. Karabo needs a child and the boy needs a mother so it should be a match made in heaven right? Well not exactly as Karabo soon finds out.

She has filled in the necessary paperwork to adopt the boy but it will not be plain sailing for her especially when she meets the social worker who is working on her case and who has to write a report on whether Karabo will make a good parent or not.

Things don’t go well between Karabo and the social worker. Denise Miller is a tyrant who seems more out to get Karabo, make her feel small and insignificant, the questions she directs at Karabo makes her fall deeper and deeper into a negative hole, Karabo can’t seem to get things right.

If she’s not been caught out shouting at her staff, she’s questioned about drinking wine alone or missing out on the all important children’s concert where Sizwe was doing a solo because she was overworked and consequently overslept. Not good, not good at all and Karabo is beating herself up over everything.

To make matters worse, Denise will be doing character interviews with Karabo’s friends, Anne and Ntombi and she does not make appointments, she always arrives at the most awkward times.

Anne’s interview with Denise did not go well at all, the woman asks questions that you find yourself saying things you shouldn’t. Anne tried her best to make Karabo look good but how can one look good when Karabo literally “lost it” after losing not one but two babies, is Sizwe just a replacement for Karabo’s lost babies?

Karabo is shocked when she finds out that Denise contacted Angela in the UK, again a strike against Karabo, she was Angela’s guardian and she just let the child make her own choice to go stay with her aunt overseas. Things are just not looking good at all.

Again Denise rocks up unexpectedly to see Ntombi this time but she had a meeting with Kenneth so Denise was not exactly thrilled when she couldn’t get her way with Ntombi.

With all the strikes against Karabo, will Denise make it possible for Karabo to be a mother to little Sizwe? Can Karabo handle being a single mother or will it all be too much for her?

Grace and Ajax sitting in a tree K I S S I N G

It’s been clear for awhile now that the writers wanted these two to hate each other only later to start having the hots for each other. It all started when Grace had this assignment to do on popular culture and after she had a run in with Sharon about something stupid, Ajax convinced her to apologise to Sharon and to stop being such a bitch.

The next day after Grace apologised and made friends with Sharon, did Sharon convince her to ask Ajax to help with her assignment since he’s a walking talking encyclopedia on pop culture. Well Ajax was all too willing to teach Grace about the fine art of Hip Hop and soon the two were getting rather comfy with each other, she invited him over to the house, he was the teacher and she was the all too willing and eager student.

As time went on we see the two flirting outrageously with each other even though they both would not admit it. Soon Dineo offered to give Grace a mini makeover, not sure what she was on about because after the alleged make-over Grace still looked exactly the same, just a different colour make-up was used on her face.

Since Ajax was preparing for his upcoming tour, Zamani thought it would be a good idea if they threw him a farewell party, he asked Grace to keep Ajax distracted so that they can plan the surprise party at the flat.

That Friday evening, Grace and Ajax had really hit it off and he invited her out for the evening but she declined because she knew he had to pitch for his own party. Meanwhile Dineo helped her get ready for the party.

When Ajax arrived at the flat, he was completely blown away by his surprise party and as happy as he was, he was missing something or rather someone. Well that someone rocked up and was looking completely hot in a dynamite red dress, Ajax couldn’t stop staring at this hot looking Grace, he was stuttering and stumbling over his words, she literally took his breath away.

The next day, Ajax confessed to Zamani that something nearly happened between him and Grace back at the Mashaba house, they had a moment and if Dineo did not interrupt, they would probably have kissed.

Zamani tells Ajax to focus on the concert, he cannot be thinking about Grace right now, she will still be here when the concert’s over.

It is clear that Ajax and Grace both really dig each other but neither is willing to admit or confess to it. There are three days left before Ajax leaves, will he be man enough to tell Grace how he really feels about her?

Sibusiso’s fishing expedition with Chief Khumalo

Sibusiso and Ntombi’s father dislike each other intensely. They have nothing in common, the Chief doesn’t feel Sibusiso is right for his daughter and after the disastrous stunt S’bu’s uncle pulled at the lobolo negotiations, Chief Khumalo has even less respect for the Dlomos.

Ntombi and her mother decides to take matters into their own hands, they are literally gonna force these stubborn men to get along and to reach a certain level of comfort with each other, right now the men can’t bear to be in the same room with each other.

The women decide to organize a fishing expedition between the two men, neither know anything about fishing so they will learn together. The plans are set in motion, the Chief and his wife arrive in Jozi and are living with their kids.

Sibusiso tries his best to make them feel welcome by organizing a field trip where they can see the sites of Jozi. Well it didn’t exactly work out, the Chief is a stubborn man and he accused Sibusiso of putting his family in danger taking them to Hillbrow.

Again Ntombi and her mom deviously plan a dinner where they will both meet at the same restaurant with their partners in hand, when the men are forced to sit across from each other at the dinner table, one could cut the tension with a knife, it was so thick.

The women laid down the rules, the men will go on a trip together to some five star lodge in Mpumulanga and they will get along, not kill each other otherwise the engagement is off for Sibubiso and Ma Khumalo threatened the Chief telling him she will let his people know that he was not willing to get along with his future son in-law.

The men had no choice, they had to do what their women wanted or face the consequences. The next day, the women packed their men off, fishing hat, fishing boots and fishing rod in hand.

When they got to the lodge, the men barely said a word to each other, each one went their own way and did their own thing. Last night we saw Sibusiso was tired of his life of leisure and told the Chief he was going fishing the next day, the Chief decided to join him but it was far from friendly terms, yet each one smiled secretly to themselves.

Is their hope for the two men yet?

I think Kenneth deserves to die for emotional, sexual harrassing Dineo; and Dinee on the other hand also deserves what Kenneth is doing to her, she shouldnt have went back to that so called marriage, now because of she is money vampire, and likes to live high while she is the poorest of them all everything coming to her, suites her very well.

Dineo is so confused.I think what she did is what most women in real life do.Women kill their husbands because of the wealth.I think Generations is both encouraging women to kill their husbands when they abuse them and alert men that ur wife can kill u for the wealth u own.Oh I wish Queen could come back "Somehow I’m always expecting Queen to pop up again with her tail between her legs crying to Karabo that things didn’t work out between her and Steve" When Ajax returns he will take some actions on Grace.Poor Kabs it seems as if the adoption is not going according to her plans.Hey Ntombi's dad is so sturbborn. Oh yesterday Sam was enjoying his mom's love.

It's always a pleasure guys!

Lushi said -<<Kanti why is Deneo freaked when she reads that the poison can be fatal?>>

I'm not sure what was going through her head, maybe she just wanted to see what effect it will have but she kept going on about the amount of poison she gave him, judging by her reaction it doesn't look like she wanted to kill which totally does not make any sense....

Queen is definitely coming back, she hasn't left the soap. This Aussie thing was just a way to get Steve out, she'll be back.

I'm so yawning at Karabo's adoption woes. SHe must get a life.

For once, I am so loving the storyline, Busi should never come back & what Dinny is doing is so good coz it's giving all the other housewives and/or married women good tips that no matter how u have deceived  ur man, NO WOMAN deserves to be treated like sh!t.  As for Sbudah & Ntomb's dad, the turn out of their trip is so good, since they are finally getting along.

This recap is fabulous girl, thanks a lot.

My prayer is that Kenny shouldn't die, he's an interesting character, and I can't wait for "little Dinny" to pay dearly for that attempt on precious Kenny's life.  After all she did to him with 'Mazzi' her lover and kenny's son, forgiven, taken back by kenny, the thank you and gratitude she is supposed to give to kenny is now murder in her heart, I just can't wait to see her rot in jail.
