EPISODE 41TX: Monday 3 September 2007

When Sam fails to turn up for a recording session, Miles tells Bernard he’s decided to cancel the duo album. By the end of the day there is still no trace of Sam, and then an SMS arrives on Miles’ cell phone: Sam has been kidnapped and the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of R 100 000. Thembi has coffee with DJ Ngwazi and there’s a mutual attraction. Diphuka is put on a bus back to Mafikeng but promises to return. Fats reveals the real reason why he has been working out at the gym. He has decided to become Suffocate’s bodyguard in the inevitable showdown with Bra Touch.

EPISODE 42 TX: Tuesday 4 September 2007

After the ransom SMS, it is clear that Sam has not gone AWOL, but has been kidnapped. The cops begin their investigation by interrogating everyone. Suffocate is dealing with his fair share of drama. Everything that could possibly go wrong does. After he supposedly paid for the outstanding electricity bill, the lights at the club go out. He finds out that Fats cut corners and took the illegal route. On the other side of town, David holds a press conference and gives a big show of his own, where he announces that he is willing to offer a whopping one million Rand to anyone who can ensure Sam’s safe return.

EPISODE 43 TX: Wednesday 5 September 2007

As news spreads of Sam’s kidnapping, everyone is shocked and dealing with it in his/her own particular way. Miles works together with the police, waiting for instructions for the ransom money from the kidnappers. Thembi bumps into DJ Ngwazi and we see some chemistry developing between the two. Meanwhile, Sunay is beginning to feel that Ngwazi is avoiding her. Mamokete decides to spring clean the house and Tshidi gets excited when she learns her parents’ anniversary is coming up.

EPISODE 44 TX: Thursday 6 September 2007

S’bu and Miles continue to clash as the police struggle to get any concrete lead to Sam’s kidnappers. After spending the night at the Vilakazi’s and talking it over with S’bu, Thembi decides to stand up for herself and confront the people involved in the recording of her song, leaving out main culprit, Rachel. S’bu decides to start his own investigation surrounding Sam’s death.

EPISODE 45 TX: Friday 7 September 2007

There is growing animosity between S’bu and Superintendent Viljoen. Suffocate can’t believe his ears when S’bu suggests the police investigate Bra Touch. Lucilla manages to persuade Rachel that it would be a good idea to release the one completed duets track as a CD single. She hopes Rachel will be able to persuade Miles. Rachel sends Kop on a mission to bring Thembi back home. Thembi avoids telling Miles the real reason for her fall-out with Rachel. Things get hot between Thembi and DJ Ngwazi.

EPISODE 46 TX: Monday 10 September 2007

Sam is still alive. Mike Nkosi, is on a mission to get comment from all related parties, trying his best to beat the next headline. A prime witness, who claims to have been at the scene of the crime, tells all. Tshidi in her enthusiasm, rummages through her parents’ wedding album, and to her shock finds a photo of her brother at their wedding. Thembi considers moving back home while Rachel gets on her high horse about the album that Redemption now wants to release as a Sam solo.

EPISODE 47 TX: Tuesday 11 September 2007

S’bu continues investigating Sam’s death. DJ Ngwazi plays the song on air as a surprise for Thembi, but she is furious. David interviews Sam’s parents on radio and gets Mrs Sedibeng to make a heartfelt plea for the safe return of her son. David suggests DJ Ngwazi play one of the songs from Sam’s CD, to push sales. A hobo discovers the body of a man. Tshidi confronts her parents about the fact that they had Stone out of wedlock.

EPISODE 48 TX: Wednesday 12 September 2007

Miles wildly accuses Sam of having brought his murder down on his own head: he was an accident waiting to happen, a rabid dog causing trouble wherever he went. He deserved to die. Neels Viljoen interrogates everyone in search of answers. He learns from David that Sam had a tempestuous affair with Miles’ wife Lucilla. Rachel bawls out first David, then DJ Ngwazi, for having played the song she recorded of Thembi’s lyrics. Dj Ngwazi points out that the worst offence was hers.

EPISODE 49 TX: Thursday 13 September 2007

Rachel increases S’bu’s suspicions of Miles and Lucilla’s involvement in Sam’s murder. Both Thembi and Suffocate dissuade him from this line of thinking. He also begins to suspect David, who appears to be full of regret about Sam’s demise. David proposes that he and Miles start a trust for developing young gospel singers in Sam’s name. Miles refuses. Calls start coming in to Redemption about Rachel’s new love song on radio. Lucilla relays the news to Miles, but he can’t reach Rachel for an explanation. DJ Ngwazi buys flowers for Thembi. Rachel thinks he is keen on her. Thembi brushes it off. Kop tries to find proof for Tshidi that he and Mamokete did not have Stone before they were officially married in the traditional way.

EPISODE 50 TX: Friday 14 September 2007

The investigation continues. Superintendent Viljoen quizzes Miles and Lucilla. He also seems interested in S’bu. After a conversation with Thembi, S’bu gives up his quest to find the killer. David has an idea of how to invest some of his profits from Sam’s CD into the music industry. Rachel and Thembi make up.

EPISODE 51 TX: Monday 17 September 2007

The possibility that any one of them could be a murder suspect weighs heavily on the Vilakazi family. S’bu suggests they hold a memorial service for Sam and Miles agrees. Suffocate calls S’bu and tells him the police have been around asking questions about him. While plans forge ahead to release the duets single Miles has to do a lot of damage control around Rachel’s other song. He meets David in the Kilowatt Club to find out what he intends doing with Rachel’s bootleg recording. Things are heating up between Thembi and DJ Ngwazi. Tshidi apologizes to Mamokete for her behaviour but wants to know more about her parents’ wedding day.

EPISODE 52 TX: Tuesday 18 September 2007

The Vilakazis are suddenly put under a microscope as the investigation for Sam’s murder intensifies. David continues his veiled marketing campaign for Sam’s record by holding a press conference with Sam’s parents to establish the Sam Sedibeng Trust. Rachel also does some marketing of her own by reassuring her fans that she is still a gospel artist. Across the train tracks, Tshidi decides to revive the idea of throwing an anniversary party for her parents. This time she manages to convince Stone to assist.

EPISODE 53 TX: Wednesday 19 September 2007

The Vilakazis are inundated with calls from the media about Sam’s affair with Lucilla, and the Sam Sedibeng Trust. Miles confronts David. He believes David informed the press about Lucilla’s affair with Sam. David says he knows the journalist and will stop the information from going to press. This makes Miles feel obliged to contribute to the trust. Preparations are underway for Sam’s memorial service. Lucilla releases Sam’s single. The police take S’bu in for questioning. After release, S’bu goes to Thembi, who is at the club on a date with DJ Ngwazi. S’bu does not like the DJ and he picks this up. DJ Ngwazi and Thembi kiss for the first time. Rachel makes a donation to The Sam Sedibeng Trust and Miles tries to get her to sign a contract.

EPISODE 54 TX: Thursday 20 September 2007

It is the day of Sam’s memorial service and tensions are running high. David discovers that record sales have plateaud. He comes to the sad realisation that it’s the end of the road for that cash cow. Rachel is using this time as a chance to start afresh. All of this is happening far too quickly for Miles and he is having trouble letting it all sink in. Stone returns with the marriage certificate from the Home Affairs department, and Tshidi discovers the date for which she’d been planning the surprise anniversary party is wrong. Drama unfolds at Sam’s memorial service. Sam’s mother faints, Rachel sings, and David pledges his trust money for all to see - chances are that this isn’t the last of the ‘Sam drama’.

EPISODE 55 TX: Friday 21 September 2007

S’bu decides to go away for a while. Thembi and DJ Ngwazi go on another date. He tells her he was never serious about Sunay and he tries to get Thembi into bed. Tshidi organises an anniversary breakfast for her parents. She reluctantly tells them about auditioning for a play at school. Lucilla finds a phone hidden in S’bu’s drawer. She and Gail discover that it was Sam’s phone.

EPISODE 56 TX: Monday 24 September 2007

The finger of suspicion turns and points at S’bu Vilakazi. Superintendent Neels Viljoen issues a warrant of arrest for him. Thembi and DJ Ngwazi go out on a movie. Tshidi turns down a major part in the school musical. Mmamokete urges her to reconsider.

EPISODE 57 TX: Tuesday 25 September 2007

The news is in every paper: there is a warrant of arrest for S’bu Vilakazi for the murder of Sam Sedibeng – and he is on the run from the police. This sends Miles into a rage. He is not able to do business or make pleasant conversation. David and Bra Touch, on the other hand, find this piece of information rather amusing. Rachel tries to offer Miles a shoulder to cry on, despite the fact that she is dealing with looming heartbreak with her daughter, who seems to be falling in love with the DJ. Tshidi decides to do the play and gets the whole family excited, although she is still somewhat embarrassed about her background. S’bu’s little holiday is cut short when he calls Thembi to catch up and finds out he is on the cops’ wanted list. Viljoen later finds out that S’bu is in Mozambique.

EPISODE 58 TX: Wednesday 26 September 2007

The police question Thembi about S’bu and try to assess what his next move will be. S’bu gets wind of the media frenzy happening back home and reconsiders his decision to cross the border. This might just be the break the police have been waiting for. Rachel grapples with the idea of intervening in Thembi’s relationship with DJ Ngwazi. Tshidi continues with preparations for the play and bonds with her dad as he transports her to and from rehearsals.

EPISODE 59 TX: Thursday 27 September 2007

When S’bu is locked up in a police holding cell, he phones Suffocate and not his father. S’bu is completely wrong-footed during interrogation when Viljoen and Mohai start questioning him about his involvement in the robbery that led to Mandla’s death. Miles is driven to distraction by S’bu’s disappearance and Thembi is forced to lie when he asks her if she has heard from S’bu again. When Thembi is unable to contact DJ Ngwazi in the morning, Rachel has her misgivings. These are later confirmed when Sunay drops by and tells her how she arranged to be at the same function with DJ Ngwazi the previous night – and how one thing led to another! Tshidi finally manages to persuade her parents to allow her to sleep over at Roxanne’s house.

EPISODE 60 TX: Friday28 September 2007

S’bu finds he’s in over his head as the police build their case against him. Suffocate decides he has to find a way to let the Vilakazi’s know that S’bu is in jail. S’bu makes a court appearance and is charged with the murder and kidnapping of Sam Sedibeng. His cellmate cannot believe that S’bu doesn’t have a lawyer and that he hasn’t told his father. Rachel feels really torn about the DJ being involved with both Thembi and Sunay. She confronts him. Mamokete is overly protective and paranoid about Tshidi sleeping over at Roxanne’s house, despite Stone’s best efforts to keep her from meddling. She’s also started to feel a little bit out of her depth now that her daughter is mixing with a rich northern suburbs family.

The gospel artist (Sam) deserved to die, his music is not like any kind of music but a gospel which goes hand in hand with the personality but that was not the case in Sam, that's why he get kidnapped at the first place. He didn't even have manners.

Finally a twist in the plot.....they got rid of that skanky, zany, dirty little scoundrel. Its unfathomable how a gospel star would behave in such a degrading manner. What does that really say about our gospel stars? Sbuda incarcerated? How did that happen.
