Hi everyone I need to ask SABC this, to the persons responsible for the late night music on tv. I see that they r able to show us overseas music shows, can they now also show us our artists's perfomances overseas coz i would really like to see the response of their side towards S.A artists. Is it too much to ask? coz I mean when it's overseas artists comin here we fill up the halls like crazy, and all we here about our artists is that the response was good but we never get to see those shows.

It's been long time I have asking the same question.I wonder if radio &tv of overseas play the music of SA artist.'Cos in SA no radio can spend the whole day playing south african music. But the other thing that kill our artist's music to be played worldwide is because of the language they use when singing. So people out there don't understand. Most of overseas artists sing in ENGLISH and a little bit of their mother tongues. So what I can urge our musos to do is sing in english and their music will be distributed worldwide.I know some people would say that musos are a

It won't be like abondining their culture/tradition.I blame SABC 'cos most the music they play in late show comprises of overseas artists. But all in all doesn't mean that I don't like overseas music,I do and I'm the number one supporter. Our beloved musos must just sing in SEJAHLAPI then they will suceed. To our radios and SABCTV must play the music of SA 'Cos if they don't our musos would suffer.

One problem with SA is that even the musos themselves pack the arena’s where overseas artists are performing and act like groupies. Its time our artists start respecting themselves before they get respect from overseas. The promotion of shows here in SA is poor and pathetic. An artist like Thandiswa can be promoted as a back up artist to an artist that sells fewer copies in their own country. Look at our promotion posters an overseas artist in bold and an SA artist get very tiny mention. How can Freshly Ground win more awards overseas than in their very own country that till today amazes me?

Not only the language is making the overseas market have difficulty accepting SA artists but the level of production and sound engineering in the albums, look at the vast differences in quality of albums sleeves of SA and overseas artists. Many SA artists overseas play in small music festivals and the publicity sucks. The reason behind broadcasters being jittery about SA music is that the market is flooded with staff that’s much better than us and SA music hasn’t fully developed its own identity in the music business. We have so many overseas copy cats that overseas artists when they get here they get groupies than self assured musicians. Tumi aka usher wanna be.

Cnhlanhla..are you watching TV that time ???
nna I think SA should keep it's music like the way it is now original and unique...otherwise if they start singing in English bazo fake ama persians (abantu ba phesheya..hi hi hi...I love this term)...
Imagine kwaito in English
