Season 6

Scrubs is an American dramedy television series created by Bill Lawrence which focuses on the lives of several people working at Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital. It features fast-paced dialogue, slapstick, and surreal vignettes presented mostly as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "J.D." Michael Dorian.

The series premiered in the USA on NBC on 2 October, 2001. It moved to ABC from its eighth season on and ended after nine seasons and 181 episodes on 17 March, 2010. On 14 May, 2010, it was announced that Scrubs was officially cancelled by ABC.

Scrubs premiered in South Africa on M-Net on Tuesday 14 May 2002, at 19h00. It later aired on DStv's Sony Entertainment Television (SONY) channel and on TopTV's Fox Entertainment channel. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 6 originally aired on M-Net from 30 October, 2007 to 22 April, 2008, on Tuesdays at 19h00. New episodes broadcast weekly.

Season 6 aired on SONY from 18 November to 2 December, 2009, on weekdays at 19h30, with a double bill each day.

Season 6 premiered on Fox Entertainment on Wednesday 4 January 2012, at 22h30. New episodes broadcast daily, on weekdays. There are 22 episodes in the sixth season.

Synopsis

Scrubs focuses on the strange experiences of Dr. John Dorian, or "J.D.", a medical resident, as he continues on his healing career in a surreal hospital, crammed full of unpredictable staffers and patients - where humour and tragedy can collide at any time.

Joining the rumpled J.D. at Sacred Heart Hospital are fellow residents Chris Turk - J.D.'s college buddy who is part of the elite surgical group - and the beautiful, but socially awkward, Elliot Reid.

Keeping a watchful eye over these young doctors are the caustic chief of medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso; the abrasive, but caring Dr. Perry Cox; and Turk’s wife and no-nonsense nurse, Carla Espinosa.

Neil Flynn, the hospital janitor, portrays J.D.'s nemesis, who never seems to miss an opportunity to harass his target.
