Four unsuspecting turtles fall into a sewer and are mutated into humanoids by a green oozing substance. Hamato Yoshi, a Japanese resident of the sewers is transformed into a Giant Rat by this same substance.
He teaches the turtles (Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo) superior ninja skills and together they fight against evil. April O’Neil, the Channel 6 news reporter aids them as they come up against Hamato’s arch enemies, Shredder and Krang, among other evil forces.
