Zaziwa is a South African music talk show produced by Pulse that gives viewers a chance to get to know their favourite celebrities through the music that has helped shape their lives, with the aim of promoting a passion for music through showcasing its creation and consumption.
This is music that is reminiscent of their childhood, high school memories and perhaps their first love.
The show has one-on-one studio interviews with celebrities as they take us through their interesting journeys supported by music videos from their musical influences.
Zaziwa promises to promote a passion for music through showcasing its creation and consumption by covering the following elements: the growth in popularity of house music, the merging of kwaito and house to introduce new and relevant sounds, a peek into the musical explosion that has taken place in central Africa in relation to influences from South Africa and teaching viewers how to download music legally.
The series is produced by Pulse and directed by Eric Mogale. Executive producers are Thabo Mphelo and Bokang Montjane.
Season 4 originally aired on Thursdays at 19h30. After 42 episodes it went on hiatus to accommodate the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, returning with Episode 43 in a new timeslot of Sundays at 20h30 from 12 February, 2017.
