Season 3

Gauteng Maboneng is a sitcom about the lovable car mechanic and wannabe rapper from Maftown, Lebo (Dr Malinga), who brings his aging Gogo (Linda Sebezo) and scheming best friend Solomon (Mandla Gaduka) with him when he moves to Gauteng and finds out that his uncle has died and left him a fortune.

The only catch is that Lebo has to look after his nerdy teenage niece, Sisi (Palesa Ntshihlele), while dodging his uncle's gold digging ex-wife Pearl (Noxee Maqashalala), at the same time trying to charm Sisi's after school tutor, Thami (Chumisa Cosa).

All of this while keeping the hunky kid from next door, Mo (now played by Oros Mampofu, who replaces Mpho Sibeko in the role) away from his niece.

As Season 3 gets underway, a year of living together has brought the family even closer...to killing each other.

Lebo has to step up his dad game as Sisi tests her boundaries in her final year at school. Gogo becomes a Jozi diva and we see the introduction of a high living family from Houghton who immediately get dubbed "the housewives of Houghton".

The Houghton family sees the introduction of several new faces this season, including David Sherwood as Dirk, Liopelo Maphathe as Karabo, Shaeleen Tobin as Rain, Phindile Zwane as Karma and Palesa Sekati as Nala.

Season 3 is executive produced by Stephen Lorenzo for Engage Entertainment, with showrunner Onthatile Matshidiso (who is also the head writer). Nontuthuzelo Magoxa is a writer. The series producer is Sibusiso Ngobeni and the director is Segomotso Keorapetse.
