I Wanna Be is a South African reality makeover television series produced by M-Net Original Productions in which hosts Elana Afrika and Ed Jordan help contestants live out their wildest dreams with the help of experts who assist them.

The series premiered on M-Net on Sunday 10 May 2009, at 18h00.

Synopsis

A reality show in which contestants get to live their dreams. Hosted by Elana Afrika and Ed Jordan, each episode see two contestants living out their wishes with the help of experts who assist them.

The premise of the show: a makeover challenge with a difference. Each week contestants will spill their wildest dreams and then get the chance to live them on the show, with the help of three expert dream-maker types.

The show encourages participants to think big and submit ideas that might otherwise seem impossible.

Ideas suggested by the show included flying a helicopter, performing at a packed stadium to crazed fans, kissing a character in a soapie, fighting in a boxing ring, walking a trapeze and sporting the extreme.

According to producers the show is about stepping out of comfort zones to try the sorts of things one only dreams about.
