Description

Rogue is a Canadian/British police drama mystery thriller television series created by Matthew Parkhill which follows Grace Travis, a morally and emotionally conflicted undercover detective who is tormented by the possibility that her own actions contributed to her son's death.

Grace is a loving wife and mother and one of the bay area's best undercover detectives. She's been on loan with the Oakland Police Department for the past year working undercover as a fixer in Jimmy Laszlo's (Marton Csokas) criminal organisation.

After her son, Sam, is killed in an apparent drive-by, Grace's life is shattered. When a connection emerges between the shooting and her police work, Grace resumes her undercover life inside Laszlo's organisation, against the express orders of her superiors at the Oakland Police Department.

Unable to confide in anyone, Grace reaches out to her mentor, Mitch, for help in Sam's case. When Grace's former handler, Wilson, discovers what she's up to, it complicates the situation.

Grace's search for the truth is further complicated by her forbidden relationship with Jimmy, the crime boss who may have played a hand in the crime.

In order to stay alive, Grace needs to help Jimmy find the traitor in his midst, while knowing he may have played a part in her tragedy.

Both Grace and Jimmy not only struggle with who they are, they also struggle with who they want to be. Both cross the line - morally, emotionally, sexually - with devastating consequences for their own lives and those around them.

A smart, complex, character-led thriller, the show explores loss, grief, identity, family bonds, second chances and redemption.

In addition to Newton and Csokas, the cast includes Ian Hart (Luck), Claudia Ferri (The Killing), Joshua Sasse (Frankenstein's Army, The Big I am), Jonathan Holmes, Sarah Jeffrey, Ian Tracey (Intelligence, Hell on Wheels), Jarod Joseph (Fringe), Matthew Beard (And When Did You Last See Your Father, An Education), and Martin Donovan (Simple Men, Weeds).

A Canada-UK coproduction, Rogue is executive produced by Nick Hamm for Greenroom Entertainment; John Morayniss and Michael Rosenberg for eOne; and Steven Marrs from Momentum Entertainment Group, who also helped broker the deal with DirecTV. Series creator Matthew Parkhill (The Caller) also serves as writer and supervising producer.

Brian Kirk (Luck, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire) directed the first episode.
