Mel, who's involved with selecting the topics for each show, interviews her guests in one-on-one interviews in an informal style.

The first guests to be featured in the series debut episode are: actress Natasha Sutherland, who chats about her book Bittersweet, which is about her life after her marraige to and divorce from Steve Hofmeyr.

Also on the show: fashionista and trend analyst Dion Chang, who discusses the future; and a life coach who chats about the role of life coaches in between uncluttering a viewers' life.

Trivia

The news about the show was broken by TVSA blogger Ms Dee after a Facebook group sprang up with the news. At the time the show had the working title For Women, By Women.

The Facebook group was pulled shortly after the news was broken as the contract for the show hadn't been signed yet.

On Tuesday, 20 October 2009 M-Net Series officially announced the show - with a new working title of Absolute Women.

On 27 November 2009, M-Net Series announced that the show had changed for a third and final time to Let's Chat ... With Mel.

The show also changed premiere dates: it was originally scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, 6 January 2010 but was moved to Wednesday, 13 January 2010 so as to debut after the year-end holidays.
