About the Show


Genesis is a South African telenovela which delves into the high-stakes world of gospel music, where loyalty is tested and betrayal lurks around every corner.

The series is about family, power struggles, love and faith – all set in the powerful and highly contested Gospel music industry.

Felicia Thabethe, once the queen of gospel, thought she had built an unshakable legacy with her husband Gabriel.

But when shocking secrets surface, everything she has worked for is thrown into chaos.

Now, with Genesis Records at risk, Felicia must fight to protect her family's name before it all crumbles.

Will she rise from the ashes of betrayal, or will the fallout cost her everything she holds dear?

The series stars Baby Cele as Felicia, Buyile Mdladla as Gabriel, Nay Maps as Bonko, Gaosi Raditholo as Mmarona, Kealeboga Masango as Nobuhle, Karabelo Ramabodu as Mpumi, Craig Nobela as Ishmael and KB Motsilanyane as Wendy.

Genesis was created and executive produced by Kagiso Mogale and Sinini Nyathi-Mati and is produced by Singa Vision Productions.

The head director is Luthando Mngomezulu and the series producer is Sinini Mati.

The haed writer is Kagiso Mogale, with a writing team including Ntando Mhlongo, Busisiwe Zwane, Sebabatso Mofokeng, Zintle T. Bobi, Donald T. Ndlovu, Awelani Makhuva, Londiwe P. Kubeka, Lesedi Phaahla, Nthabiseng Tau, Lunga John Radebe, Bongani Masondo, Khomotjo Aphane, Tsale Makam, Pusetso Thibedi, Nomfuneko Samantha Magadela, Sibusiso B. Malaza and Sinovuyo Nqwili.

The original music composer is Mjakes Thebe, with additional music composed by Nu Sound Factory.
