About the Show

All of Us is an American sitcom created by Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Betsy Borns and inspired by the domestic adventures of entertainment superstars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith which revolves around Robert James, a divorced TV entertainment reporter with a young son and his fiancée, a kindergarten teacher who helped him through the breakup of his first marriage.

The series reflects a new generation's enlightened attitude toward the extended family dynamic with humour, sensitivity and heart.

Robert James (Duane Martin), an entertainment reporter for a local Los Angeles television station, is handsome, smart and modern in his thinking - as he should be, considering his romantic and parental entanglements.

Recently divorced from the somewhat self-absorbed Neesee (LisaRaye), the mother of their five-year-old son, Bobby Jr. (Khamani Griffin), he is madly in love with his fiancée, Tia (Elise Neal) - a funny, clever kindergarten teacher who helped him get over the demise of his first marriage.

Robert and Tia are of a new generation. They refuse to buy into the old stereotype that being divorced means you can't get along with the ex.

So Robert does things differently as he works to maintain the peace, however uneasy, between his ex-wife and soon-to-be new bride.

Providing friendship and varying degrees of support and advice to the couple is Dirk (Tony Rock) - Robert's best friend and producer who lives the Hollywood single life - and Tia's best friend and fellow teacher, Jonelle (Terri J. Vaughn).

Cast Changes

In June 2005, Elise Neal announced that she would not be returning for a third season of the series due to a salary imbalance between her and co-star LisaRaye.

In August 2005, Terri J. Vaughn and James Vincent also announced they would not be returning to the series due to contract disputes.

But in November 2005, Terri J. Vaughn returned to the series as a guest for the two-part "Legal Affairs" episode and James Vincent guest starred in the episode "Creeping With The Enemy".
