Keesha Sharp is an American actress best known for her role as Monica, William Dent's (Reggie Hayes) girlfriend then wife, in the television sitcom Girlfriends, from 2002-2007.

Her role in Girlfriends garnered a nomination for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2008.

She currently stars as Suzanne's best friend and coworker, Gigi, who has a taste for men and the finer things in life, in the television sitcom Are We There Yet?, since 2010.

Sharp was also on the big screen in 2009 in the hit Tyler Perry film Why Did I Get Married?. In addition, she had a substantial arc on the first season of Everybody Hates Chris.

Sharp was born in Rochester, New York, where she studied the clarinet, piano and cello at the prestigious Hochstein School of Music. Her enthusiasm for the dramatic arts led her to apply to The Boston Conservatory, where she received a full scholarship to study theatre.

After graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree, Sharp set her sights on the stage. She performed in the Broadway National Tour of Carousel, debuted Off-Broadway in Michael Bradford's Living in the Wind and played eight different roles in the interactive comedy Eat the Runt.

Other theatre performances include Abyssinia, Aida, Thunder Knockin', Jitney, The Producers, Big Street, Suburb and Joe Turner's Come and Gone, in which Sharp read alongside playwright August Wilson.

Sharp's other television credits include principle roles in Still Standing, The Game, The Tracy Morgan Show, As the World Turns, Another World, Welcome to New York, Third Watch and Law and Order: SVU.

Her film credits include roles in Ernest Dickinson's Never Die Alone; the comedy Malibu's Most Wanted; Pootie Tang, with Chris Rock; American Adobo; and Bull Run.

In addition to her work on the screen and stage, Sharp is an accomplished writer. She co-wrote a screenplay with award-winning novelist Thomas Monteleone and has a television pilot in the works.

Sharp lives in Los Angeles with her family and her two Tonkinese cats.
