Bio

After graduating from Wits University with a degree in Business Management, Danny decided to follow his passion and enter the music industry.

Since the release of his debut solo album in 2000, Danny K went on to release numerous chart-topping hits and award-winning albums including the singles Hurts So Bad, You Don’t Know My Name and Senorita.

In 2003 he released his second album entitled J23 which extended Danny's signature Rhythm & Pop sound.  He collabrated with Alexis Faku and Pete Martin (who were responsible for producing a great deal of the material that formed Danny’s debut release), and the album was recorded trans-continentally in Johannesburg and London.

The lead single off the album is the ballad, I Can’t Imagine that Danny wrote just weeks after his brother’s death.

About his brother Danny says, "We were so very close – we worked together and moved in the same circle of friends. Since we were young, Jarren and I were so close people often thought we were twins.

"This has been the hardest thing my family and I have had to face – it’s still unbelievable that someone like Jarren, who was so generous of spirit and full of integrity, is gone.”

Danny was named People Magazine's 2003 "Hottest SA Hunk," and named one of SA's Top Ten Sexiest Men by Cosmolitan's magazine.

In 2004 he collaborated with South African artist Mandozato release the album Same Difference which won them a 2005 Best Pop Album SAMA.

Since then he has spent his time opening for intenrational acts, writing, producing and preparing for the release of his new album in September 2006.
