Bio

Henry Ian Cusick is a Peruvian-born Scottish actor best known for his role as Desmond Hume in the television drama series Lost, for which he was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, in 2006.

He also starred as Stephen Finch in the first season of the political thriller television series Scandal (also known as The Fixer), in 2012.

He played the role of Jason in nine episodes of Casualty (2001-2002), Dr. Ewan Talbot in three episodes of Two Thousand Acres of Sky (2002-2003), and Miles Longmuir in The Book Group (6 episodes, 2003).

He has had guest roles on Taggart, Happiness, Adventure Inc., Midsomer Murders, and Waking The Dead, and played the role of Theo Stoller in two episodes of the 5th season of action series 24, in 2006.

Cusick played the role of Jesus Christ in the direct-to-video release The Visual Bible: The Gospel of John (2003), and has appeared in the made-for-TV movies Richard II (1997), Murder Rooms: The White Knight Stratagem (2001), The Dinosaur Hunters (2002), Carla (2003), and Perfect Romance (2004).

In film, Cusick has appeared in Possession (2002), Half Light (2006), 9/Tenths (2006) and After the Rain (2006) to date.

He was kicked out of The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama for smoking cannabis, before joining the Glasgow Citizens Theatre where he performed for a number of years.

He also performed with The Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, The Almeida, Liverpool Playhouse, Babel Theatre Company, and 7:84 Theatre Company in Scotland, to name a few.

His mother is Peruvian and his father is Scottish. He was raised in Trinidad and Scotland.

Cusick auditioned for his role on Lost by filming himself on DVD in London and sending it to Los Angeles.

He has been married to Annie Wood since 15 July 2006, having co-habitated with her for 14 years. The couple have three sons: Elias, Lucas and Esau.
