Mary-Margaret Humes is an American actress best known for playing Gale Leery, the title character's mother, on the television drama Dawson's Creek, from 1998 to 2003.

Other television shows she has appeared in include The Dukes of Hazzard; Knight Rider; The A-Team; Riptide; Hunter; Mike Hammer; Hardcastle and McCormick; Night Court; T.J. Hooker; Jake And The Fatman; Eerie, Indiana; Matlock; Murphy Brown; Touched By An Angel; CSI: Crime Scene Investigation; The Division; and CSI: NY.

Humes has also appeared in numerous made-for-TV movies, including Velvet (1984), Perry Mason: The Case of the Reckless Romeo (1992), In the Heat of the Night: By Duty Bound (1995), Gramps (1995), The Stalking of Laurie Show (2000), Motocrossed (2001), and Dying to Dance (2001).

To date she has only appeared in two feature films - History of the World: Part I (1981) and Sworn to Justice (1997) - but will appear in her third in Broken Windows, scheduled for release in 2008.

Born in Florida in 1958, Humes is a former Miss Florida & 3rd runner-up to Miss USA. She was discovered by advertising her photo, name and phone number on a billboard visible from the 20th Century Fox studios lot. The billboard was seen by Mel Brooks, who phoned and asked her to read for a part in History of the World: Part I.

She has been married to boom operator Raul A. Bruce since 27 December 1992.
