Alan Thicke is a Canadian actor, songwriter, game show host and talk-show emcee best known for his role as Jason Seaver, the patriarch on the television sitcom Growing Pains.

He appeared on Growing Pains in 121 episodes, from 1985-1992.

Thicke has had recurring roles on Married With Children and Son Of The Beach, and has made guest appearances on shows like Murder, She Wrote; The Outer Limits; Arli$$; 7th Heaven; Half & Half; and The Bold And The Beautiful.

His son, Robin Thicke, is a popular musician.
