Bio

Hailing from PieterMaritzburg, Londi Sibisi trekked to Johannesburg to find her fame and fortune. She is the Johannesburg correspondent and assistant producer for eTV"s The Showbiz Report.

Londi admits her job isn’t always that glamorous. “I cover everything from live music concerts, behind the scenes on local films and interviews with local and international stars but I don’t always look forward to the late nights. What’s worse is when you don’t get the co-operation you need,” she says.

Some highlights include interviews with movie stars such as Will Smith (Men in Black) and Chris Tucker (Rush Hour), music legends - Quincy Jones, Hugh Masekela and Diana Ross and many more. Even though she may seem to have a natural personality for the camera – it wasn’t her first choice.

“I studied Public Relations and always saw myself as a corporate person. Half of the guys I went to tech with are still shocked at the route I took – but hey, who really does what they studied for?” she says. “I would like to go back some day but I’m still enjoying the entertainment business.”

Before Londi was the Johannesburg correspondent for The Showbiz Report – she worked with Nicky Greenwall on E-Arts and Nightlife as her production assistant.

”Nicky is great. She gave me a chance to show what I can do and she will tell it like it is. If my script is crap she will say so; if it's great she’ll give praises."

Other duties include researching her own stories, editing and scripting and sourcing out all other material needed for the show.
