Jane de Wet is a South African actress best known for her starring role as Lexi in the drama series The Girl from St. Agnes.

Born and raised in Cape Town, she matriculated from Parel Vallei High School in Somerset West in 2014.

At school she participated in a number of exams and eisteddfods in modern, contemporary, jazz, ballet, musical theatre and drama.

In 2012 she won the Most Promising Actress award at the ATKV Tienertoneelfees and won numerous school awards for drama.

After matriculating she studied Bcom Management Sciences at Stellenbosch University, graduating in 2017.

Thereafter she worked as a freelance model and dancer, appearing at the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) and as a DHL Stormers dancer.

In 2018 she signed with an actor's agency and soon landed her first professional acting role when she was cast as murdered student Lexi Summerveld in the Showmax thriller series The Girl from St. Agnes.

The series debuted on the streamer in January 2019 and the following year aired on M-Net City.

In the same year she had a guest starring role as a waitress in the series premiere of the M-Net action thriller series Trackers which aired on 27 October, 2019.

Also in 2019, Jane starred in the feature film Griekwastad, for which she was nominated Most Promising Young Talent Award at Silwerskermfees 2020 and for Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film at the 15th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs).

Other films she has acted in include Moffie, Rage, Parable and Slumber Party Massacre.

Jane had a guest starring role in an episode of the kykNET drama series Projek Dina (Project Dina) which aired on 21 January, 2020 (Season 1, Episode 2).

Less than a week later she began a recurring role in the M-Net drama series Still Breathing. In the series she plays Tegan, a young, vibrant rebel who has grown up in the golden glow of her brother, Trent.

Her first appearance in the role was in the series premiere on 27 February, 2020.

In 2021 she played the recurring role of Alice Band in the BBC America fantasy series The Watch, inspired by the Ankh-Morpork City Watch from the Discworld series of fantasy novels by Terry Pratchett.

In the same year Jane landed another starring role in television, this time in the lead role of Adri Erasmus in the third season of the kykNET anthology drama series Spoorloos.

Her character was abducted as a baby and 15 years later, with the help of her best friend, she sets about trying to solve the mystery of who she is and what happened to her.

Spoorloos: Steynhof premiered on 6 July, 2021.
