Bio

Stiaan Smith is a South African actor, director and writer best known to television audiences for his starring role as Jurie de Klerk in the kykNET comedy series Phil 101.

After training at AFDA (Johannesburg) he acquired a B.Com (Finance) degree at the University of Johannesburg. His first screenplay, Sy Klink Soos Lente, was released in 2016. He also played the lead role in the film.

He also co-created, co-wrote, directed and acted in the kykNET mockumentary series Hotel, for which he and Bennie Fourie won the 2017 SAFTA award for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting - TV Comedy. The duo were also nominated in the category Best Achievement in Directing - TV Comedy.
