Bio

Dr. Bon Blossman is an American reality television personality best known for starring on the Style Network series Big Rich Texas, since 2011.

Blossman is a published fiction author, C.E.O. of an international murder mystery company, a recording artist and a developmental physiologist.

She is also an adjunct professor with over 16 years of college level teaching experience and has earned an award for excellence in teaching from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2003.

She currently teaches the following courses: Principles of Biology I and II, Biochemistry, Parasitology, Gene Expression, Anatomy & Physiology I and II and Contemporary Biology.

Blossman was born and raised in Texas. She grew up in Westover Hills, Texas in the DFW metroplex. She spent her free time on the lovely grounds of Shady Oaks Country Club where she engaged in tennis, golf and swim lessons year round.

Her father is a hard-working surgeon and retired Colonel in the USAF as well as a lifelong dedicated Shriner. Her father is also an established poet and author.

Dr. Bon's mother is a retired registered nurse and nurturing homemaker. Bon trained in dance and theater and was a member of the Shady Oaks Swim Team throughout childhood.

She moved from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to Europe as a teenager where she lived in the small village of Bundenbach and attended high school in Germany. She later completed her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine (Biology and Chemistry) in 1995, her Master of Science in Biology (Microbiology) in 1998 and her PhD in Biology (Developmental Physiology) in 2007.

She continued with a two year post doctoral fellowship in a developmental cardiovascular research program.

Dr. Bon is a member of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemical Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society, National Scholars Society and is listed on the Cambridge Society's Who's Who List.

She is also a member of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Institute for Biological Science.

Since 1998, she has published a number of scientific journal articles in the fields of microbiology, mammalogy and physiology, including a landmark paper in metabolic allometry, with her research focused on the development of the embryonic cardiovascular system.

In 2006, Dr. Bon founded the company My Mystery Party, serving as the initial webmaster, author, marketing and advertising manager as well as the only customer support representative. It rapidly grew to be a Murder Mystery Party company.

Dr. Bonnie has published over 100 murder mystery party games and 50 scavenger hunt games. In 2007, Mountain Dew leased a random claymation video from Dr. Blossman for an 11 month commercial campaign for their new energy drink.

Dr. Bon is a member of the seasonal dance party group, Party of 2, and in 2010 released the Monstrous Halloween Dance Party Mix CD and the Ultimate Merry Christmas Dance Party Mix CD, which was released in late October of 2011. As a hobby, she also plays bass guitar for the alternative rock band, DrunkLora.

Dr. Bon Blossman has three published fiction novels, published by her start-up publishing company, Zakkem Publishing. She has been married to Jem Rock since 29 October, 1993.
